Wow, that's really funny!

China didn't get the memo that Nazi swastikas have been outlawed in Gemany for a long time now.

I know with the governments media & internet censoring many chinese haven't heard of some things (tiananmen square)... but seriously? No one knows a nazi swastika when they see one? Needs "© 1930" on the package.

Generally not going to help sell items in english speaking countries.

The swastika is a Buddhist symbol in East Asia so why should they care about pathetic Western states outlawing opinions (and research) such as Germany or France? (These free speech violations is at least as bad as the censorship you mention).

mfm, the blunder here is the fact that the packaging denotes the swastika as the German flag. And halo's point is a valid one about selling to western countries. Why should they care? Well, I guess that depends on how much they care about profit margins.

The people who want to export to the West should care (about their profit), but he talked about Chinese people and censorship in general.

But, maybe they know something we don't?  Maybe the Nazis are getting ready to take back control of Germany with China's help? Wink

1) Since the package is in English, one can safely assume that the product is not targeted solely at Chinese buyers.

2) Even someone like you has to know that in the West, that symbol is one of unfettered evil and atrocities thrust upon mankind.  Let us NEVER FORGET the millions of our family members who died to fight what that represents.

To confuse the Buddist or Hindu representation, or even the Christian 'bent cross' is a slap in the face of those who died to protect your liberties, as well as your freedom to argue this very point.

I've been to camps in Belgium and France, and to minimize their culture's feelings on the issue is not a judgement you are fit to make.

I don't have any freedom to argue any point in France and elsewhere but the politically correct truth (tm). It's the same thing as the Chinese censorship mentioned above, or worse.

And you make a strawman argument as usual, the original poster was criticizing Chinese censorship and criticizing Chinese people for not knowing Western history.

Your misdirected argument can be made in support of the same censorship.

You conveniently omitted the quote of my post that addresses your false pretense.

"1) Since the package is in English, one can safely assume that the product is not targeted solely at Chinese buyers"

The ridicule is warranted, as it's as appropriate as marketing porn to toddlers.

False pretense? It was irrelevant since it was just one of your strawmans. I didn't criticize the original post, just the poster on the high horse that conveniently forgot the censorship in Europe regarding WWII and who apparently thought that all Westerners were experts in Chinese history.

Btw, the "legit" swastika is the inverse image of the nazi one.

You have it reversed, yet again.

Do I smell a bit of Holocaust Denial from you? I assume that's the 'research' to which you alluded.

Nah, I just dislike politically motivated state-declared "truths" which you cannot research the details about without getting several years of prison time.

So you are a Holocaust denier after all.  No surprise here.

There is nothing more to be said to you, ever.  Your ilk cannot be reasoned with any more than a child molester can control his 'urges.'

And again you show that you can't argue yourself out of a paper bag, maybe you shouldn't "discuss" European politics (or much else for that matter).

Your one-trick pony is to insert yourself into someone elses discussion and then attack a straw man with ad hominem arguments.

Pathetic.

(Sorry Budgeteer, I won't reply to any more of Chicago X's straw man posts).

Called out for straddling an untenable position, you attack the person, rather than the message.

Your transparency is evident to all here - from being the resident contrarian, to the political pariah and firebrand, it is all a desperate cry for attention.

Your inability to empathize with the human condition long enough to face the truth is indeed indicative of sociopathy, as another member previously postulated.

Your personal attacks show the real desperation at work here behind the facade.
