I thought I’d ask your opinions on this. Planning another project and am on the fence. I was planning on a Cree cxb3590 emitter with a cc/cc boost driver on 8 li-ions in series. I have a bunch of Sanyo GA’s for that. On the other hand, I’m dying to do a mod with a direct drive xhp70.2 (I have one on a 12v mcpcb). That would need high drain batteries though like vtc6 which can get expensive. The other setup doesn’t need cells with 15-20A cdr.
If I do go that route, anyone know of a driver that can run a 70.2 direct drive? Do those zenner modded drivers work?
