I use imgur and have no complaints.
Just remember to set a ‘relative % width’ so large photos don’t spill out of the page.
I have no idea what that means. To me, we should just be able to upload a link from a hosted file and it displays it. I still have no idea what I’m missing.

It seems you are inserting a web address, not a direct link to an image.
Your link needs to end with a valid image file type, like one of these:
image.jpg
image.gif
image.png
To insert your EagleTac photo, I visited the link you posted, then right-clicked on the image, then clicked ‘view image.’
This opens a new tab with only your photo displayed.
In this case, your image link ends in Screen-Shot-2020-04-14-at-7-05-16-PM.png so it should be properly displayed when embedded.
You can copy the link in the address bar, then insert that into your post.

BTW, I still love my EagleTac G25C2 Mk II. 
You just need to insert the actual web address of the image. When I right click your image and then click “copy image address” I get this
Now you just click the little sunset looking icon in the post editor that says “Insert image” when you move the curser over it.
Click it and a box pops up to insert the url of the image.
Right click in the image url box and hit “paste” https://i.ibb.co/qdtd0xt/Screen-Shot-2020-04-14-at-7-05-16-PM.png
Then go to the next box down that says (optional ) relative width (%) type in 70 or less and hit “OK”
Its simple once you get the hang of it but its important that what you type or paste in the image url box be the actual url of the image.

2. After upload is completed, select Embed code: “Direct links” and click “COPY”
3. Click on “Insert Image” Icon
4. Paste link inside “IMAGE URL” field

In NL we have an expression: “een kind van drie kan de was doen”.
Literally translated: “a child of 3yr can do the laundry”.
This has undoubtely something to do with the complexity of modern houskeeping.
That said, the biggest question is: were to find a child of 3yr, when you need one?
The vital tip is: link to the pic itself, don’t link to the album you put it in (right-click on your mouse)
After I upload my photo to imgbb.com, the selection field for Embed Code does not show the option for Direct Links.
I neatly avoid the whole entire issue of dealing with posting pics.

That option is only available when you are logged in (Registration is free and easy)

Ok, I use imgbb with no issues. You don’t have to register to use it. You don’t need to embed.
Upload ur pic/pics - be sure ‘do not delete’ is checked.
choose html full linked (if 1 image)
choose html thumbnail linked (for a few images)
Copy the code it gives you.
Then come back to blf, add ‘reply’ or comment’ and literally paste that copied code here.
For 1 photo you do not need to select ‘insert image’ it will work if you just paste that code straight into this box
I’ll do that here so you can see the result
Here is the same thing, but using ‘thumbnail linked’ - clicking them ,as the larger image above will take you to the full size image.
NOTE I am NOT using the ‘insert image’ button on the blf text box (7th in from left) to do this.
IF you want to do it that way, it’s fine, then you also have the option to resize () - when you type in your , say 50% the choose ‘preview’ and it will show you what it’s going to look like live. If happy, save/post.
