How Do I Program My C8 Modes?

I want one mode.

I know I’m supposed to go to the lowest mode and do a series of clicks on the blink, but I forgot how.

You’re not getting a useful answer from me, but I would add some info about the driver in that light.

I assume you mean the Convoy C8...

I didn't know you could do that with a C8.

I know there is a way to do it. These mode selections are simply too long to memorize.

As far as I know, with many Convoy flashlights you can only choose between 3 or 5 modes, thus disabling disco modes if you choose 3 modes.

(But I don't know about all Convoy flashlights.)

I’m so sick of these damn things coming on in other modes. It shows an option for 100% mode.

My mom had a flashlight with the standard 5 modes...

Then one day she dropped it.

Now it only has 1 mode, 100%.

I don't think you want to do that, however, so I'll shut up for now.

This is the light I am trying to program…Nealsgadgets C8+ KM CSLNM1.1G Thrower LED Flashlight

Okay, I lied about shutting up, but I have an idea...

Maybe ask Neal?

I assume you mean you want one mode of 100. If it has biscotti then try the following. While the light is on quickly tap the button around 10+ times until it stops flashing. The light will now buzz twice. Fully click the switch during the first buzz. Turn the flashlight on to enter mode selection. The light will blink 12 times, turn the light off immediately after the twelfth blink to select mode 12 (100 only). See the ui graphic on the C8+ page if still unsure.

I keep trying that, but it never reacts at all. I never get the stop flashing. Just in low mode, it blinks, but nothing else happens, no matter how many times I flash it or turn it off. Confused.

Only one blink in low mode = Firmware 3 / 5 modes

Not biscotti, 12 mode group firmware .

Low mode, finger on button, immediate flash-click, Change from 3 to 5 modes or from 5 to 3 modes .

Ah, the hateful UI…

Depending on the driver, you can solder-bridge a small spot to force all the 7135s full-on, ie, 100%.

If it looks like this, of course.

No driver removal required.

This. If the driver board is green, it’s what you’ll have to do.

I’d just swap it out for a Biscotti driver myself. Did it with my old C8 and it made the thing a completely new torch that I actually like to use.

Thanks. This explains it. The blinky modes do go away. Just realized.

It’s still a great light. Amazing, in fact.
