How about a thread on lights that you misplaced or lost.
My most recent disappearance was of one of my UF-H3s. The last time I saw it I was trying to jump start my truck in the dark in 0 degree cold. I had stuck it to the inner fender and probably closed the hood and drove off with it. I am on the fence about ordering another I keep hoping it will show up in a jacket pocket or something.
just one 3xD maglite. It could still be in a box somewhere...but probably grew legs.
dog chewed up the rubber head cover and plastic lens on a browning 2xAA once. I resisted the temptation to make her eat the rest
pocket knives, on the other hand - I can't even count how many I've lost. At least two dozen, and all my fault except one benchmade got picked from my pocket. I replaced it - same model, limited edition, ser. #'d, ($150) and it got swiped by an acquaintance.
No real loss but I misplaced one of my second generation Inova X1's. I looked everywhere but can't for the life of me find it. It's a really nice looking flashlight with almost no lumens. So why do I continue to look for it??
The only flashlight I have ever lost was a Vietnam-era military flashlight I acquired from my father who had served in the Air Force during the seventies. I lost this flashlight years ago when I was a kid and wish I knew what happened to it.
It's the MX991/U, an olive green 2-D cell flashlight with a set of filters. The one I lost was identical to the one displayed here: http://www.vietnamgear.com/kit.aspx?kit=231
Actually I haven't permanently lost any so far. I had a SS ITP A3 that went missing for a couple months after giving it to my then 1-yr-old daughter but found it in a couch when looking for something else.
