Thanks for the review! Despite these zoomie flashlights are “old” style, I am still, somewhow interested on them!
I have one question, though: do you know if the pill is brass or aluminum, and do you know if it is hollow or if it has a shelf?

I have 2 smaller versions of these on the AA form and both habe hollow pills, which a pitty to mod them in a good way!

Um, I don’t know. I was afraid to take it any more apart. I believe just a simple aluminum shelf. The silver AA one I have has nothing. But with a light at this price point, I don’t too much care. It performs very well. And this is two-day Amazon shipping, so no waiting six weeks for an item from China!

Yeah, important for those of us who want to modify the thing.

So it’s a SK98 clone, meaning it takes 18650 cells, not a SK68 AA/li-ionclone?

So where do you find them for sale?

Sounds like exactly what I did to a ’98 clone. Popped out the crappy driver and stuck in a 1-mode 1.05A 20mm driver. Think that got a 4C from an S2+, too. Been a while since I even saw it last.

And 2hrs on probably a 2000mAH or 2200mAH cell implies about 1A draw.

Oh, the reason why any’n’all lights get stuffed with all sorts of crappy useless modes is because it’s free. Costs zero to stick in those modes vs just 2-modes (l/h) or whatever.

People who don’t know any better will see “1-mode” and “5-mode” and go for the fiver because it’s “more useful”. :confounded:
