usps tracking shows delivery but not here - suggestions?

A package from 18650batterystore containing 4x sanyo ncr18650ga and 2x molicel p42a 21700 was marked delivered but nowhere to be found. A package from kiriba-ru was delivered. It strikes me as odd that one package was delivered but the other seems to have disappeared. I’ve never had this happen before. suggestions?

Porch pir8s?

Doubtful. The mailbox is big enough for both packages. If someone swiped it they’d be unlikely to take only one package and leave the other.

As I understand it the sender has to initiate an inquiry so I sent a message to 18650batterystore.

Until you take delivery, the sender is still (supposedly) the owner.
They need to initiate any proceedings.
Perhaps it just ended up at a neighbors?
This happened to use just last week.
Tracking showed delivered.
They were nice enough to bring it by after they got home.
Good Luck,
All the Best,
Jeff

Probably show up Monday. I have had packages scanned delivered, then show up the next day. Possibly they scan it, and end up leaving in the delivery truck.

+1. Similar experience, not USPS though.

Same has happened to me more than once and when I called the post office the next day, they just said oh it’s an “invalid” scan, yet they left it in the tracking info. The packages did eventually show up later, but if it had really been lost, I would’ve had no recourse with the tracking showing delivered. On one occasion, I had a small battery show delivered, but wasn’t in my box. This was one of those 40+ neighborhood lock boxes with each house assigned to a slot. I was told the “GPS” tracking showed it was delivered in the correct area so they told me to go knock on doors! I can’t begin to count the number of times I got mail with someone else’s address. At least with Amazon they take a picture to prove it was on your doorstep.

Same happened to me last year with one of those shipping-only Olight offers. I told Olight it hadn’t been delivered and also went into the post office and complained. Olight sent me another and two weeks later the original package turned up in my mail box.

Ask your neighbors? I’ve received boxes for my neighbors and have had mine delivered to my neighbors a couple of times now!

That be my guess also, check with the neighbors. I have had it happen more than once especially when they have sub mailman that doesn’t know the route.
If it had been FEDX then the driver just didn’t delievery it and marked it deliverd to look good on paper and will bring it the next day. That also has hapened more than once.
I know my UPS local manger so one phone call and the package is found pretty quick no matter where it is.
I would go to my local post office and ask, they know who delivered that package that day and they can ask him or her about it. Just take your tracking number.

This has happened to me a few times. USUALLY it’s just a mix-up with the carrier. They accidentally marked the status as delivered but it’s still on the truck. In those cases, it was delivered a day or two later. One time it was brought back to the USPS office, waiting there for me. Another time it was a faulty delivery accidentally marked as completed (it actually went back to sender).

Hopefully for you it’s just a tracking mix-up. If your local post office hub is easily accessible to you, print out the USPS tracking page from the website and take it with you to the office. When I did this, they were confident I was the proper recipient—they looked it up and it was a botched tracking update, package was sitting there & I got it.

Whoever received it was considerate enough to leave the package in my mailbox. I’ve received packages for others numerous times and always leave them at the intended address. It seems someone else did the same.

Congrats with the positive outcome! If I were you, I’d contact your local postmaster in charge of the USPS hub in your area. Those frequent misdeliveries is not normal and should be dealt with so you have peace of mind going forward.
