Amutorch XT45 Quick Review

Hello BLF! I have been lurking on this forum for around a year now, and I thought it was time to make a contribution myself, as I haven’t seen many reviews of this light yet. If you have any questions feel free to ask them!

Quick Review
Just got my hands on the Amutorch XT45, the cheapest SBT90.2 light on the market (I paid 61€!).

Build quality: Build quality is very good, with no imperfections, and the switch is stiff but not excessively. It’s surprisingly pocketable (if you have big pockets), weighs slightly more than an E07 and it’s slightly longer, see the album for comparisons.

Led and runtimes: The SBT90.2 is incredibly powerful, so the body gets too hot to hold after just 1 minute and the light steps down to low in just over 5 minutes, before climbing back up to an estimated 300/400 lumens and sustaining it. Here is the turbo runtime graph (battery is samsung 40T):

At around 3.0V, the light stays on only in low mode, with 5 seconds bursts on medium and high.

The modes are an estimate based on my ceiling bounce app:

LOW – 20-30 lumens

MEDIUM – 750-850 lumens

HIGH – 1300-1400 lumens

TURBO – 4500 lumens

The medium mode is not sustainable, at 25°C room temp it heats up to the thermal limit (60°C?) in just 5-6 mins, then falls to around 300 lumens but tries to get back up to 800 as soon as it’s cool enough.

Tint/throw: The colour temperature is around 5500K and the tint is greenish, I improved it with a minus green filter and now it’s much better. Throw is slightly less than my Acebeam k65, which is really impressive, and I really like the beam profile. Here is a beamshot compared to my FW1A xpl-hi 5000k, the tint is similar with the minus green filter on (FW1A on the left, XT45 on the right)

Conclusions: For the price, I definitely recommend it! The only things I don’t really like are: the medium mode which is too high, and the fact that it’s not waterproof at all as the switch let in some water during this water cooling test on turbo:

Many thanks.
Does it have a forward or reverse clicky?
