Help choosing correct flashlight

Hello everyone, i want to buy a flashlight for camping in the woods with some friends
i’ve been searching in the internet and found a good affordable flashlight in the country i live which is hard since they dont sell much of those in here

the flashlight is Fenix PD35 v2 is it a good buy?
I search for a good duration flashlight with high luminosity

For camping in the woods any flashlight will do. There is no nuclear science involved.
What would be important for me is cells availability. AA are most common ones. Can be bought almost everywhere.
Mike

I think i still need something stronger than a usual 200 lumens, life for exploring a cave, could you recommend me a 600 lumens+?

Hello

I don’t know this Fenix.
For camping I recommend a headlamp. I personally use a Zebralight H600c. It is a little on the expensive side at $90 but it is pretty tough, you can expect keeping it for a long time. It runs on a 18650 Li-ion battery for high runtime. It has very low modes, under 1 lumen, which is good for not ruining your night vision. It can also go up to 1600 lumen for a short time until it gets too hot and goes back down a bit. It can sustain 1000 lumen for a few hours.

I own a Fenix PD36R, and while I find it to be a good torch, there are great lights out there for less money.

Check on AliExpress, Banggood, GearBest, or Fasttech for a Convoy C8. Or a Sofirn C8F or C8G. Or an Astrolux EC01. These are very nice flashlights that are good sized for EDC, have a lot of lumens, and are high quality for budget lights. I don’t know if any or all of these online stores ship to Portugal, but look into it, maybe a European Amazon site can ship to you…?

WK30. Loads of fun.

You didn’t specify size or any other criteria to help narrow your choices, so…

Yeah, WK30. Let’s stick with that. Awesome light.

I love my PD35 v2. Great high output and a really good runtime on low. Build quality is solid. Would recommend.

Yes i will check those websites
About the size it doesnt matter much, i dont want a headlamp as my first good flashlight, i search for something more compact medium sized like the flashlight i mentioned, thanks for the help everyone

That Fenix is a very solid choice and will last you for years.

However I find flashlights with integrated charging much more convenient for camping, such as the UC35 or PD36R.

Thrunite TC15 is also very similar to those Fenix but with a shorter body with higher output. I have this one and it performs great.

Also, if you don’t mind a slightly bigger size I’d consider a 21700 flashlight instead of 18650, the increased size is almost negligible but it almost doubles the capacity.

Have any flashlight sugestions with 21700?

Between those 3 which one you consider the best one (durable, battery, lumens, intensity) don’t need to consider the price, and yes i found some websites that ship to portugal, at first i tought those websites were not legit, so thank you

Either Convoy M21B, or S12. They’re Convoys, so they’re guaranteed to be great, and with XP-L HI emitters you are guaranteed a lot of throw to go with your power.

Hey Hyiuu! Bem-vindo ao fórum

I hope you find here some answers for what you are searching for! In case you need, send me PM, if I can help.

Are you searching for the flashlight in the site https://lojadaslanternas.pt/ ?
I never bought from them, I normally buy from AliExpres or other sites.

My advice for your choices: pick a small light with low levels, no memory so that you can always keep it in your pocket; then, pick a stronger light for wider/longer illumination range.

I recommend Convoy S12, love this flashlight, I was camping a lot, and when I go on camping next time I will consider getting the S12 with me.
(you can check my review)

I own all of these. For a camping, I would choose either the Astrolux EC01 or Sofirn C8F, as both put out more lumens, for a more floody general area lighting, and both take a 21700 battery. If you want a more intense beam for longer distances, the Sofirn C8G or Convoy C8 will give that. The C8G is 21700, and C8 is 18650 battery, but both are pretty much the same light with different user interfaces.

I would lean towards the Sofirn C8F. Buy it as a kit, so you get a battery, and charger with it.

Thanks for the tip C:
I decided to buy 2 flashlights, Convoy s12 and Sofirn C8F, if possible i just want to know if this sites below are legit, and i will make my order, also the Convoy s12 has multiple designs, do they differ in power as well or something?

Anyways thanks for all the help guys from my heart <3

They’re legit but be ready to wait up to 45 days for your order.

The IF25a is a new light from Sofirn that was released last month. It is a smaller light (weights about 1/2 of what many C8s suggested here do). But it holds a 21700 battery and fits easily in most light jacket pockets (not quite small enough for a front pocket tuck-in, but some would).

Anyway, it runs hot if you are running on Turbo (where it puts out an amazing 3500 lumens… so a glove is required for longer high-output forays!). However, if used like MOST lights (95% of the time on low to medium), then this is a tight little package with LOTS of output + run time given you select a good 4000mAh 21700 battery like the Samsung 40T (4000mAh) or better yet- the Molicel P42a (4200mAh). Both these batteries will TURN this light on (* and the Sofirn “kit” battery is OK too, but not as good).

And coolest of all, it runs the Anduril UI. I have TWO in each version sold: the 5k and the 6.5k (and the 6.5k is the brighter of the two). I prefer the 5k myself as the colors render a bit better and I don’t need 200 yards of throw for camping.

If I wanted to keep the weight down (backpacking for days), but still have longer run times and serious output WHEN needed… I’d take this light along. At $29 (no cell) direct from Sofirn.com (*to the US, not sure what shipping might be to you) it’s a very economical (4-LED) light that is hard to beat for the features.

ALL great suggestions here though! Just my 2 cents. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes so many good suggestions, i’m trying to find it on internet with portugal shipping, i found one but it says 2 months to arrive, can’t wait that long but i will do a deeper research, thanks a lot for the suggestion
