WTB: Help with Emisar Order

Hi All,

Looking to place an order with Hank at International Outdoor soon but I don’t do PayPal, and that is his only acceptable payment method at the moment. So, I would be grateful if a (long-time) member might help facilitate payment on my behalf via PayPal. I would reimburse you immediately via Zelle or Google Pay (no fees), and throw in $10 for your trouble. Total would be somewhere around $200. Any takers?

Thanks!

EDIT: Helpful member found. Thanks!

You can pay through Paypal via card I believe, you don’t need an account as far as I know.
Getting someone else to do it could be a nightmare if something went wrong/missing since any refund etc would go back to the original account, also the warranty would be linked to that person, along with all the emails etc.

I'm curious...

If I may ask, why don't you do PayPal?

Me too, as far as safety online goes I’m not sure there is anything better? I have never had an issue with them in 4673 transactions, I have had plenty of issues with sellers though.
If it weren’t for Paypal, I would have been robbed/ended up out of pocket on all of them.

I just thought of something...

My sister has a prepaid American Express card that doesn't work with PayPal, so that's why she doesn't use it.

Me, though, I love PayPal for buying stuff, and it's pretty convenient for selling as well.

well, there are quite a few reasons why people don’t want to or can’t use paypal:

- their card or checking account is not supported by PP

- they don’t want PP to have access to their debit/credit card

- they were previously blocked/barred from Paypal in their current market or another PP market

- they don’t want Paypal exchange their personal data with various 3rd parties

- PP previously took away their money or decided against them in a case (and they want nothing to do with them)

  • they believe the PP fees are too high

Alternatively, you could also use a prepaid credit or debit card on their accounts (if someone doesn’t want to link their actual account).

Oops, I got confused.

Her credit card works with PayPal.

It does not work with AliExpress.

I think that ypu can use paypal as a “guest”, and you put your card at the moment of paying. It does not remember you, and you do not have to make an account. If your problem was to make an account you can do that if you want.

If you do not want or you can not do that, I suggest finding a friend or family member to do that for you if you can. This is a very friendly and nice community compared to others, but you never know, and in case of issues on the shipping or defects, it would be a hassle.

You can also get it through distributors, I think there is illumn in the usa, and in germany there is other one, do not remember. If they do not have the model you want, you can ask them for ordering it.

Good luck, they are very nice lights for the price in my opinion.

As 2A mentioned above, there are several reasons why one might not want to give PayPal any (more) money. For me, it was a combination of the following:

  • Being scammed by multiple buyers on eBay, and PayPal siding with them virtually by default on disputes (and PayPal buyer scams are on the rise).
  • Not getting anywhere with appeals/escalations, despite having evidence, and having been a customer of theirs for 15+ years, with a previously unblemished record.
  • Not providing any seller protection to begin with in certain cases (pick-up only items, etc.), and still charging fees in those cases.
  • PayPal being a very anti-2A company, and simply choosing not to fund their agenda any longer.

With the prevalence of other online cash-apps, it really hasn’t been an issue until now.
Zelle has really gained in popularity recently, and is now offered thru most major banks.

u can just link your bank account and wire money to paypal? thats how i do. I dont even have a real visa card… so even if someone hacks my acc i have like 1 dollar there max….

I was an eBay powerseller silver for 2 years, the number of “friendly fraud” is astonishing. Buyers just claim they don’t like the goods (“not as advertised”) and PP will in almost 100% of cases side with the buyer. there is NO protection for sellers on that platform.

So I totally understand why some decide to no longer use their services.
