Lumintop X9L SBT90.2 vs Acebeam K30GT SBT90.2 Video comparison

Lumintop X9L SBT90.2 vs Acebeam K30GT SBT90.2 Video comparison

Andreas

Thank you andreas0401,

I’ve been anxious to see beam shots from the X9L. This is very helpful for me. I appreciate your other video comparisons as well.

Do you think you could perform this comparison in an open field setting like you did for the Acebeam T27cw VS Thrunite Catapult V6.

Thanks for this. Looks like K30 has more throw and X9L thus has more flood and more diffuse center beam.

Thanks from me as well Andreas. It’s interesting to see your beamshots in your usual controlled conditions.

I have both the Acebeam and Lumintop X9L and was impressed to see how well the Lumintop held up against the Acebeam. I found that all the expected differences were present considering the smaller reflector but notably it throws ‘almost’ as far, just with less intensity/illumination in the hotspot.

I adjusted the temperature threshold on the X9L to very high and put some EPDM bands around the barrel tube (for protection!), and this helps extend the turbo runtime.

Overall very impressed with the X9L and I’m loving having this much power in such a (relatively) small light.

Shame my NI40 is out of commission at the moment, but from memory I know I would carry the X9L on more occasions due to size/power ratio.

Does the X9L produce the output and throw claimed by Lumintop?

Sorry don’t have the equipment to measure but if you are willing to research what lumens people got from the Acebeam K30GT then this might help to get an approximation:

Using an Android Lux metre to do a ceiling bounce (about 1.5 metres from table to ceiling) with K30GT using full Samsung 30Q’s and X9L using full Molicel P42A I got these numbers:

K30GT: 810
X9L: 736 (for 15 secs before moving down to 680)

So at start up the X9L produced 90% of the K30GT ‘output’.

If the K30GT has 5500 lumens, then I get 5100 lumens for the X9L with a Samsung 30t.
I measured 4900 lumens with the Samsung 40t.

Thank you Andreas,

Your last two videos were exactly what I needed to understand the beam qualities of the X9L.

Thx for the comparisson!

Was thinking to buy X9L but this emitter simply needs a bit more mass to hold high output.

I’ll be waiting Convoy 4x18 with this emitter after all.

I found a reference at the Skylumen web site with these figures "Stock X9L SBT90 @2s: 4850L, 160Kcd, 800m ". Thanks .

I think it should have enough thermal mass to run for at least 30 seconds but will probably step down at 20 due to the code not being optimised. Have you set the temp?

Skylumen throw measurements are consistently high. 160kcd is 130kcd. But his lumen measurements are accurate.

Does anyone know if Neal has these in stock? I would like to order one this Thursday if they are available.

https://www.illumn.com/flashlights/lumintop.html#undefined . These people are closer to you and had 20% off not long ago. Might still be valid.

Thanks :+1:

I notice these from specs, all 3 having SBT90.2 LEDs:
Lumintop X9L: 40mm head diameter
Amutorch XT45: 45mm head diameter
Acebeam K30GT: 57mm head diameter

Would it be safe to say that in terms of thow, the K30GT out-throws the XT45, which will in turn out-throw the X9L?

what are peoples thoughts on the form factor of the Lumintop.
I like the look and feel of the Lumintop and its relatively small size.

I like X9L - reminds me of Eagle Eye X6, but pumped up version. Of course if max lumens/candela are achieved, this will be for seconds, yet this size is more practical for me vs. bigger lights, which utilize way better the power of this LED. Overall signed under inpractical and emotional purchases in my book.

Agreed.
I love a thrower that can also fit in my pocket.
I currently carry the Lumintop GT Mini (not pro) and so far have had no issues with it especially on turbo
Was thinking of getting the X9L but i am well aware that it will get hot/drop down very quickly.

Any other recommendations for a small thrower?
