Only suggestion that I have, if you’re willing to build:
Convoy L6 with the MTNElectronics L6 Momentary Driver and the the XHP70.2 5000K 90CRI LED
I personally built this and got the SMO reflector that MTN sells for the L6. Even with that still floody.
You’re very welcome, glad to help, despite my small contribution
I been looking for a different options and Emisar D18 with SST-20 4000k 95CRI seems like a great option. Never had any of those lights and still waiting until new D1S comes out.
Not sure about extra floody optics that is an option, anyone got beamshots comparing regular and extra floody optics? Do I get both if I order it with extra floody just to swap them between different uses?
What about constant lumens, something like 2000 as I read from TK’s review?
Any ideas why there is no Samsung LH351D 90+ CRI led option? Would that even be better or not? I read that Hank does custom builds for this one so gotta think about this.Other lights that are still on consideration Fireflies ROT66 gen 2 with Nichia 219B’s. but what lumens that give out? No listing on product page about that. Still I have a feeling that because both lights cost about the same then Emisar D18 should be the number one choice because better build quality, better driver (?) and overall better performance?
Also looked some Haikelites which seems a bit too expensive compared to those two and I’m leaning on D18 at this point.
I personally adore the SST20 4K 95+CRI LED, the triple works great on a FET Driver (Just waiting for Simon’s special MCPCB to come in the mail for the S12) and a single is great as an EDC in the S2 (Which gives me the ideal amount of flood and throw at the same time for me)
Damn, those first 2 pix are like from a level of D00m.
Got an SP36? Slap on some diffusion film for a coupla bux. Nice flooder, and cheap ’cause you already got the pricier bits.
You might consider a Haikelite MTO3 TA; it is very floody and puts out a lot of light; good value in terms of lumen/$. I have one and have used it for ambient lighting.
