[Comin' soon] Wurkkos DL30 BLF-Groupbuy

Hello my fellow flashomaniacs,

Mark Lee (Wurkkos) just presented another new diving flashlight to me that is soon to be launched. This time, it's probably something for those among us who like to keep things simple (KISS-principle). Mark was a little worried that a light like this may not catch much interest on BLF. However, I hope to prove him wrong as I expect there's always a purpose for a supersimple, water-resistant "no frills" flashlight even for people who are addicted to full-featured Andúril lights. Pricing and availability will soon be announced as well as a nice discount for BLF members. With that said, please have a first look on some snapshots of Wurkkos's new DL30 flashlight...

Specs:

  • 3x LH351D 5.000K 90CRI with a maximum output of 3.600 lumens and a range of up to 220 meters
  • thermal regulation (55°C)
  • 21700 tube (with compatibility to 18650 batteries)
  • supersimple "no frills" UI - low (350lm), medium (1.300lm) and high (3.600lm) by turning the magnetic control ring
  • water resistant up to 100 meters with IPX-8 rating
  • will be supplied with a 21700 4.800mAh battery

Thank you this looks good Wurkkos is making some nice lights.

And simple is VERY good. Mag switch and 3 levels – what else is really needed 95% of the time.

I have a Sofirn SD05 on order because mag and simple but this would have fit the bill even better I think.

Very nice Wurkkos. I really light the simple UI design. I have the Sofirn SD05 and this one has a similar magnetic control ring. I got the Wurrkos FC11 and WK30 and they have been excellent lights for the price. I end up gifted them to family members and they quite like it. Big Smile

Diving lights should be simple and foolproof. You’re underwater and accidentally hit strobe, and 100s of cuttlefish will swarm you trying to have sex with you and you’ll drownd.

If the ring allowed variable output adjustment from 1 lumen to 3600 lumens, I’d be interested. 3 modes, lowest 350 lumes? Nah, not for me.

It’s a Diving Light. If you looking for ring adjustable light here you go : HDS Rotary

https://www.hdssystems.com/Products/Rotary/

You want moonlight or 1 lumen mode under the water? Facepalm Big Smile

Plus, HDS Rotary max out put is 250 Lumen. And It’s $295.

Wellp, if you really need a fully adjustable diving light, and can still get any, there’s always the DV-S9.

There is one problem with infinitely variable lights, magnetic ring or firmware. Consistency. If I get a run time at a certain output, it’s next to impossible to replicate that output and get the run time needed. Well you probably could but, it’s going to require more equipment than just a flashlight and a battery. Playing with our lights out in the back yard or around the house is one thing. Being underwater, with a limited supply of air, I would want to know exactly how much light I have left at a easy to access brightness level. That same light could be used for any activity that required you to know to the second, what you got. And I’m not carrying around extra crap just for a little light.

HDS are nice lights. Built to last and built to a standard that won’t be sacrificed for any reason. Good, bet your life on, type lights.

Variable brightness hobby lights aren’t really my thing. I have a few but they don’t get much pocket time. I also don’t have variable length knives or variable round count pistol magazines. Big Smile

Consistency is good.
