Old NOS flashlights (New Old Stock) is pretty common on eBay as well.

Those were what I wanted back in the day! Couldn’t afford them but my uncle and a few others I knew had them. Sure like the lights I have now way more but boy o boy the world has changed

What’s the quality of these lights.

In those days I a had a few all-plastic lights (crappy lights to be honest).
The people I knew that had metal lights complained they scratched and dinged fast.
And when the batteries leaked they became very rusty in an matter of days.
So these lights only stay fresh looking in the blister.

From that viewpont it reminds me of the old saying: you can’t have your cake and eat it.

My memory may be going but as I remember it the quality was pretty good in that they would stand up to a fair amount of abuse. The big problem was inherent in the incan bulbs. The flashlight might get dinged but it would survive just fine. The bulb not so much.

They were a little sturdier/better made than typical plastic lights, though they could dent if you dropped them or you could crack the glass lens. They were chrome or nickel plated and usually didn’t rust too easy. The switches weren’t that good, often you had to shake/smack them to get them to light up.

Forgot about the switches. Now I do remember that. Makes me appreciate the lights we have today even more!
