Looking for cheap C8 type flashlight with a XM-L, Any recommendations?

After playing with my L2 I want to see how much different a thrower can be.

Where are the good places to look and the places to avoid?

I see a lot starting from about $15-16 and Id like to stick around that price range, I doubt there will be any cheaper though.

Recommendations and links welcome.

If you can stretch your budget by $7 there is a Romisen quality light. 大龙网_跨境电商B2B商机平台_移动端跨境贸易新体验
DinoDirect usually has a $5 coupon over $30 orders so if you can add something for topping it to $30 it may appear to be only $18.

I would still buy a Romisen over a C8. My last Romisen had almost 3mm thick walls. And my C8 broke its glass at the first drop from 80cm.

+1. Same as kokopelli. I have both. The performance of both lights is pretty much the same.but romisen rc-t601 is much better in build quality. N definitely worth the extra $4

Having owned or used both, I have to agree on the Romisen.

I really wish that Prariefire TB-D7 would be in stock at DX

Romisen RC-T601 I was really impressed when I got this light. It will out throw almost every C8 light. I wood defiantly buy one of these..

How do you know it's not in stock?

A few folks have had them on order for some time but they've still not been dispatched.

About the Romisen, you didn't say if its bright or not.

Today I got some more 18650 XM-L lights and they appear to only be about 1/2 to 2/3rds as bright at my MF UF drop in. I'm not happy with either of the new ones.

I don't really want to gamble with brightness and hope it preforms well, that's kind of why I am asking.

It's bright - 700+ honest lumens with decent run time and it's a good thrower. I prefer the two mode version, a cycling buddy has the 5 mode, but I don't like the disco modes.

For throw, I prefer the XR-E emitter. It delivers a cleaner, more detailed image, without the misty overlay that the XM-L spill produces when used on distant targets.

I still like this UltraOK:

It draws 1.75A and comes with a plastic (but optically excellent) reflector, which I replaced with an aluminium one, but other owners here didn't. I too will probably revert to the original. Overall quality is on par with my other budget lights, all more expensive. Has been mentioned in several threads on this forum.

If you order, ask the seller to package well. My sample required a tailcap replacement, due to damage in transit. No problems getting it, though.

EDIT: I just realized that I had previously missed your mentioning XM-L in the thread title. Hope my post might help anyway.

The KD C8 is prized very highly here also. I don't have the Romisen equivalent so as for build quality I have to defer to the others who do. I can say that the KD C8 is damned bright!

Any interchangeable parts in Romisen or spareparts available as C8 has?

Driver size in Romisen? Reviews available? :)

Hmm, since very few people seem to have that Romisen, I ordered it from DD.

A bit over 21$ is IMO close enough for comparison against C8 and with excellent experiences about Romisens, it should be a good one!

Loooking forward to your review...

Funny you mention that; just today, I got my money back from Deal Extreme because it's been so long. And after prodding around, I discovered they may not have it for months to come. Had to send 3 emails to get back my money. Not all that happy with them at present. Looks like it'll be six months or longer before any of us get our hungry hands on that light.

even better if you cook it
