4700 Lumen 7000' Beam

This is far from a budget light. In fact it is the most expensive flashlight I've seen. Link

The HIDH-3550 is a fixture that delivers an extraordinary output for a relatively small and portable HID flashlight. Designed for military, search & rescue, and border patrol applications, the HIDH-3550 can project it's primary 50 watt HID beam 2000 meters with minimal surrounding light.

This is a very powerful handheld flashlight. It will easily reach 7000 feet in 50 watt mode and 5000 feet in 35 watt mode. There are several unique features that make this HID light powerful, dependable and easy to use.

From a power standpoint, the state of the art ballast actually enables the operator to conserve the lithium ion battery life while still providing 5000 foot of beam length.

The completely sealed housing makes this light operable as a dive light to at least 100 meters. The use of a magnetic switch ensures that there is no ingress point in the housing. Instead the operator simply twists the collar ring style switch to turn the light from 35 watts to off to 50 watts HID spotlight operation.

One of the most unique aspects of this light is the fact that each of the two parts are machined from billet aircraft grade aluminum. This includes the reflector and light head. The reflector itself is actually machined as part of the head and coated. Generally, when you disassemble a flashlight, the reflector is a separate, thin aluminum cone shaped component. In this light, the head is actually machined from solid billet, and the reflector is actually milled into the head directly. While this takes an inordinate amount of CNC time, the result is a lifetime reflector that always holds its shape and is exempt from many times of degradation found in separate reflectors. The reflector holds it designed optimal curvature regardless of repeated heating and cooling. Thus, the operator is guaranteed consistent light output.

The heavy duty handle makes the light easy to carry, point and surface place for ideal beam placement. The light can even be hung from a tree branch or pole. The weight balanced housing enables the operator to position the light fairly precisely. It also make it easy to carry. Many times, larger handheld spotlight type flashlights are heavier on whichever end has the battery. This HID flashlight, however, is well balanced, which makes it ideal for portage or mounting. A 1/4 -20 tripod mounting insert is included in the light for tripod style mounting accessories. More importantly, crew served weapon mounting, or other vehicle mounting applications are manageable as the well balanced HID flashlight doesn’t vibrate unevenly.

The thick, finned aluminum head housing ensures that the HID flashlight body stays cool to the touch, unlike some other high powered HID flashlights, where the head runs at skin burning temperatures above 200 degrees F.

It's dual mode function allows the HIDH-3550 to run off a low, 35 watt HID beam; which produces 3200 lumen output and has a runtime of 110 minutes. As well as a high, 50 watt HID beam; which produces 4700 lumen output and has a runtime of 70 minutes.

The HIDH-3550 is exceptionally durable, made of solid aerospace aluminum, the HIDH-3550 can take almost anything thrown at it and still function properly. It's reflector surface is coated for maximum beam emmission.

It's lithium-ion battery is protected by the same aerospace aluminum. The battery is equipped with a protective circuit to control battery charge insuring proper charging and protect over over/under charge conditions. An easy-to-exchange slow blow fuse is accessible in the event of inadvertent shorting of the battery terminals.

It's electrical circuits and components are gold plated to insure corrosion and electrolysis never occurs to degrade performance. It is water pressured to 50 meters. These two features make the HIDH-3550 an exceptionally powerful dive light as well as task HID light.

Removable hand grip is ideal for mounting the HIDH-3550 on tripods or lanyards. Hand grip is easily removed for those applications where a standard barrel grip is more to an advantage.

Complete with a magnetic on/off switch which allows easy activation of both it's high and low modes. If the switch is rotated counter clock-wise from it's original position the low, 3200 lumen mode will activate. In turn, when the switch is rotated clockwise, the high, 4700 lumen beam is activated. Rotating the switch the opposite direction of the mode chosen will initially turn the light off. If rotation is continued, the alternative mode will then be turned on.

Charging System:

AC 110-220 VAC

DC 12-24 VDC

The charger can be used to actually power the HID flashlight directly or charge the battery. Full charge time is 180 minutes.

Part # HIDH-3550 Price: $2,476.00

Unbelievable! Dimensions are on the big side, but not exaggerately big, and shape is, well... cool!

The price instead is just a little bit scary...

At those prices, just get a Polarion. Tried and tested.

this here beats it by $23

For that price, I would prefer to wait till it the sun comes up :)
