I like the feel of the E19UV. The knurling is smooth but provides some grip.
The only other 2xAAA penlights I own are a couple Lumintop IYP365 and a Wurkkos WK01. The Lumintop is totally smooth with no knurling, and the WK01 has just a little bit on the tailcap.
I also like the Wuben’s switch. It’s rigid plastic instead of rubber.
My only other UV flashlight is a Convoy S2+ with the 365nm Nichia UV emitter and ZWB2 filter. This E19UV has very similar performance for making objects fluoresce.
Wuben doesn’t specify which emitter they’re using, but the bezel and pill aren’t glued on my E19UV, so I opened the light and took a couple of photos of it.
I ran the emitter without the filter and it still emits very little visible light.
Just a follow up. I’ve received the light today and it’s really neat! The transaction was seamless with @goshdogit. I plan on using this light’s wavelength to inspect skin conditions as it is the same wavelength as the traditional Woods lamp used in medicine.
I knew “Wood’s glass” was named after someone, but I didn’t know much more than that. It was interesting to read about the inventor, Robert W. Wood, and his scientific contributions.
