Got my Keygos M12 today, fingerprints on the INSIDE? WTF?! :(

Well, I got my new in sealed package Keygos M12 today but WTF?! There's fingerprints all over the inside of the glass and all over the reflector!!! WTF!? :( Also, the zoom is loose as hell, just pointing it at the ground makes it zoom in :( Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ6LdtsbEDc

Anybody know how to open it so I can clean the reflector and glass?

LICK FOR HIGH RES!

I suppose when I have it apart I can just drop in a thicker o-ring to make the zoom tighter?? I'm a flashlight noob so any help you can provide would be great :)

On a happier note I got my charging station all set up :) Just waiting for my mini volt meters to attach to each charger and it's complete :)

I must have licked the screen ten times - no hi-res pics....

Congrats for the pink Hello Kitty bucket doubling as a safety device for the charging station.

Does the head not want to unscrew (glued)?

lmao

my screen tastes like vinegar and dirt. worse, I don't feel high

anyway, here's some cleaning discussion ;)

Thanks, if anything goes wrong, I unplug the main cord, drop em in the bucket and out the door they go

I'm a super flashlight noob, where exactly do I try and unscrew the head from? The whole zoomie part just spins and spins, not sure how to unthread any of it!? :(

I made a video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJ6LdtsbEDc

I will check out the cleaning link, thanks! :)

the zoomies I have come apart starting at the bezel - which is the piece holding the lens on.

so you hold the head to keep it from spinning and unscrew the front of the head from the rest of it.

then the silver part that the emitter is seated on can unscrew - there's probably a couple dimples in the silver part, insert a tool in those in order to apply twisting force (snap ring pliers or needle nose pliers work ok)

after that comes out the head can slide off...but you probably only need to remove the bezel/lens to clean.

I'm not familiar w/ your light so YMMV...

How do you carry a flaming plastic bucket out the door?

Just unscrew the bezel then take out the pill then you will be able to take out the head and put a suitable o-ring or metal ring that is probably missing or heavily chewed. You'll need tweezers probably. Oh and clean the bugger in the process. :)

You have decent redilast batteries and a ton of cheapish li-on chargers. Don't skimp on chargers... Good ones are not that expensive either. Since you like charging a ton of stuff at one time this one might be what you want to have.

If sticking with the original setup you may also want these:

Sweet charger  I’ve got a ton of the 18650 to dual magnet ended wire adapters so that charger would work perfect

I do like my $2.36 chargers though, especially when I take the dremmel to them so I can fit the 26650's in them ;)

Quickly and carefully

Glad you like them but it does look like a fire hazard to me. I have really hard time to want to plug on household socket something freeshipped at 2,5usd. I suspect it barely adheres to any specification... safety was probably not their concern. I may be wrong tho.

Any luck with the fingerprint coated lens?

How are those Keygos 26650 performing so far? What are your thoughts?

BTW: Great Hi-Res pics!

I was able to use the “elastic band trick” to get the bezel ring off. Ummm, it’s not even really a reflector in there? lol. Just flat polished metal. It’s not very flat, has a few dents in it and is covered in dirt and fingerprints :frowning: lol?

I'm trying to find a set of needle nose pliers to unscrew the pill. Will keep ya updated :)

Well zoomies are supposed to be reflectorless anyway. About all of them actually. Some prefer paint the internals black completely to avoid any reflections that shows up as artifacts later. I never had great success doing that.

I just got them today, they came free with the flashlight. They are still charging. If that cheap charger doesn’t explode them I’ll give em a good runtime test over the weekend, assuming I can fix the zoom problem and give it a good cleaning  The loose zoom is super annoying, especially cause I wanted this to be a floodie! I might just weld it in the flood position

Glad you like my pics, did you see my video (1080p :))?

I've got some nice high temp flat black paint I used to use on my guns, would work perfect for that. I hate artifacts, usually stick DC Fix sand film from Home Depot on every light I own, to get rid of the artifacts and make them flood.

Will wait patiently for the run time test :). Hope you get everything sorted out with the zoomie. I know how frustrating it can be. I’ll check out your vid now.

Regarding the problem with the loose zoom, try to unscrew the pill, on its edge there might be a gap to place an o-ring, or at least it is common on others, and if not it might be missing on the body tube.

Poor quality control :(

Thanks! No wonder the zoom is loose, no o-ring to be found!! Is there a specific groove it’s supposed to go in? I’ll stop by the hardware store tomorrow and see what they have that’ll fit

LICK FOR HIGH RES!

Now, to clean and paint the "reflector" :)

-Jamie M.

The groove is not where I thought it could, but maybe placing an oring here will do:

By the way, the thickness of that pill looks like will dissipate quite well.

Just, one more question, Would you let me know the lens diameter?
