New build or complete recommend?

Hey guys, new to the forum. I have occasionally visited over the years (when checking lights, I try to see if there is a review on here due to the comprehensive information in the reviews)

So, I got the itch to want a new light. I have been using a chinese light for the past 4 years, not even on the fleabay anymore, i think they had claimed 2klm at that time. From what i can tell, i believe it is an old T6?
I am powering it with two IMREN 5500mah 22a/60a 26650 cells. The unit still works fantastic for most uses, however it is getting there the light flickers now and then which is annoying and i would love more light too.

So the question falls down to, what would a recommended upgrade be? If possible i would like something that can still use my 26650 cells, or possibly reuse my current chassis (it uses 20mm PCB’s)

On another note, i was looking at the Rofis MR70 CREE XHP70.2 as well as Sofirn SP33 V3 last night.

I have a convoy L6 the runs off a pair of 26650’s and it’s an absolute beast. I love it. Another option would be the sofirn SP70. It’s a similarly sized light built around the same emitter as the L6.

Beat me to it…

L6 for brute-force light, L2 for an überthrower.

Think the L6 needs 2 cells, but the L2 comes with an extension tube that lets you use 1 or 2.

For sheer kix of white/red/UV in the same light, the WK30 is a hoot!

I got the SP70 in June this year- salivated over it while the batteries charged up the first day. Then after running it I realized how spoiled I was to own a Q8 which does what I need for that level of throw. The SP70 is just so BIG (as the L6). It’s now my LARGEST shelf queen :person_with_crown:

But if I had a pair of 26650s laying around and wanted a decent smaller light- I do really like my SP33 V3 in the 5k model (currently out of stock four months now sadly). But the 6.5k version (in stock at sofirnlight.com) I also have is a great outdoor light with decent throw. Lots of comments on it’s step down management being “uneven” and poorly regulated, but I’m not a turbo user (for more than 30 seconds anyway)… and so in (my) real world it does it for me AND love the ramping on the V3 too.

Good luck!

Late response, but i ended up picking up a ThruNite TC20. I am still eyeballing the SP70 however
