Wurkkos FC11, Wuben C3, Skilhunt M200 or something else?

Hi,

I am looking to get a good value rechargeable light for general purpose and EDC.

I’m new to the world of flashlights, have done some reading and am starting to understand the terminology etc. These three lights seem to be well regarded good value lights:

  • Wurkkos FC11
  • Wuben C3
  • Skilhunt M200

Which do people think is the best of these for general use or is there something else I should be looking at? I don’t want to spend more than necessary, so something that is good value for night walking, camping and general use.

I don’t mind buying from Aliexpress etc, but I would rather not wait too long for delivery if possible so Amazon etc would be better. I am in the UK.

Thank you.

I recently got a Sofirn SC31 Pro and it puts out very much light for such a small body (after a while it drops of coarse due to the light heating up and stepping down), has nice throw/flood combination and has amazing Anduril firmware. I carry it everywhere in my backpack due to its versatility. Today I got a Wurkkos HD20 (made by Sofirn) and I have to say I’m really impressed with the light quality and color rendering. It’s more of a flooder and does not produce the same amount of light as the SC31 Pro, but the light is very even and doesn’t “change color” like the SC31 Pro does on lower levels. It produces a very nice neutral white, high CRI 5000k light. Compared to the SC31 Pro it even looks a bit warmer when they’re both on turbo.

The Wurkkos FC11 you mentioned has about the same size as the SC31 Pro, doesn’t have the Anduril features but still has ramping (which I love), and also has the amazing emitter found in the HD20. I don’t own the FC11 but if raw power isn’t your main goal and you won’t miss Anduril features I’d choose that cause I’m pretty sure it’ll render colors more natural and even  I suppose the optics are comparable so it’ll also be a good general purpose throw/flood light… Ah yes the FC11 also has a magnetic tailcap, that’s not supplied (on Aliexpress, sofirnlight.com puts a free tailcap with it) with the SC31 Pro. You can however buy it separate or swap it with a cap from the SP40. The tubes and caps from the FC11, SC 31 Pro and SP40 are also all interchangeable if I’m not mistaken.

I’m not familiar with the Wuben or Skillhunt.

I bought al my Sofirn lights from Aliexpress and they all had an amazing 2 week shipping from China to Belgium.

Thank you Fescron, that’s really useful to hear from someone with experience of Sofin and Wurkkos lights. I am leaning towards the Wurkkos FC11 I think.

*edited for poor spelling

I haven’t used them all that often because I only recently started buying these rather cheap but very powerful lights, but did a lot of research about them and have pretty good surroundings for testing them so I hope my limited knowledge and experience helps  I didn’t expect I’d like the light the HD20 produces with the Samsung LH351D so much but I’m really impressed by it, and now am kinda sad they don’t make a SC 31 Pro with that emitter  I like the Anduril firmware though, so making a choice between the SC31 Pro and FC11 isn’t that easy IMO.

Yes, since posting earlier I had seen the Sofin Sc31 Pro. I like the idea of Anduril, but the Wurkkos Fc11 probably has enough modes for what I need.

The FC11 and SC31pro are both kick-ass lights, and the M200 is a work of art.

Save yourself the ag. Just get all 3. Seriously.

You’ll thank me later.

(Ain’t got the Wuben, so can’t say anything good/bad about it.)

thanks to people like you, i now have two edc, sc31 pro and m300 (well technically m300 still on its way)

Toldja you’d thank me later…

M200 has: lower moonlight/firefly mode, more efficient driver, zero PWM, and is just generally better built.

Not that the FC11 is a bad value by any means, but there were definitely some sacrifices made to achieve the excellent price it’s sold for.

If you do go for the M200 make sure you get the version with the “Samsung LH351D” LED. This will be easiest to purchase direct from Skilhunt I believe - the Aliexpress listings from different sellers are all over the place and you aren’t guaranteed to get one of the updated versions with the improved UI.

damn i didnt even know that was a thing! i bought m300 from super outdoor flashlight store, i know its legit, but how do i tell if its got updated version with the improved ui? of course im assuming m300 has the same issue as m200?
