BF edition: my next purchase Black Friday, OH NO!

OK,

I am an amateur flashaholic with About 30 lights in total including lanterns, headlamps, and proper flashlights.

Most are general consumer type items from Promier, Rayovac, Energizer, Performance Tool, Husky, Defiant, Gear Light, etc. Most of these are quite decent though.

Every Black Friday, I buy a few of the nicest looking lights with the highest claimed outputs and compare them to what I have in that category. If they are as good or better I keep them.

My best and brightest are:

*Sofirn SP-70,
the Rayovac Beast,
the Manker E14III,
Manker MC13,
Fenix PD35,
Sofirn SP40,
The Coleman 4D and 6D battery Guard models,
Wurkkos WK30,
and my tiny Lumintop EDC01 Key light. I am also waiting on a Sofirn SF-11.*

I have heard GREAT things about the Lumintop Tool 2 but really don’t need a single AA light. Similarly, I have been eyeing the Thrunite Ti-4 v2, but really don’t know when I’d use it.

So, talk me out of that or into it or suggest lights you think I might need or like.

Lanterns! It’s all about lanterns now.

I think you would like the BLF GT94.

Are you kidding? Lol…

Very few of us “need” any more lights.
It’s really about “want”.
Heck, I don’t even use most of the lights I have now but still buy more.
Titanium kick now for a while.

Well sure, but it’s just a tad out of my budget, LOL.

Sound like you need an LEP light in your life.

$150 with coupon.

OH, boy!

Yeah, that sounds awesome. With my other options, IDK if I should try to swing an additional $150.

I do have other interests, plus my mortgage, LOL.

Any idea what extra features are worth the expense on that? IDK what a PAHC bezel even is…

The other features are for how the bezel and some parts are hand finished, such as heat oxidized, high polish, etc. I bought from SkyLumen because Vinh offers a warranty with any lights he sells. He usually mods lights to boost power, but stock ones like these also carry his standard warranty with an option to purchase an extended warranty. The $150 matches the price on Neal’s Gadgets and the warranty is a no-brainer. He does receive these lights in batches, so purchasing one while a quantity within a batch is still available means receiving the light within days. If the batch is sold through, the average wait is about 2 weeks (still the same or better than Neal).

I think that is a great idea!

Thanks, and also curse you for telling me about LEP’s!

You’re welcome! Flashlight people are the best/worst enablers. So of course I opted to talk you IN to your next purchase!

Just buy the Tool, i’d advice the Nichia version. (I swapped the xpl2 with a LHD351 )
If you’re planning on using 14500’s make sure to change or remove resistors for the lighted tailcap, it will drain your cell because it has high parasitic drain.

Do you see the Nichia version on Amazon? The best deal, so it seems, was the 14500 battery equipped one with coupon code. The drain is not an issue on the AA’s?

Thanks.

The lighted tailcap only works on 14500 cells.

WK30.

You’ll thank me later.

MS18. The worst investment. The most satisfaction.
I’m waiting for the MS36.
Cheers.

How does it compare to the Sofirn SP-70?

Looks cool. Whats a good price on it historically?
