Looking for Cree XM-L T6 1-Mode LED Drop-in

I know the P60 Manafont Cree T6 3-Mode Memory LED Drop-in Module is very popular in fact I have a few on their way. But I want a Single mode version. Can someone recommend a good one? I'd prefer a smooth reflector but have noticed the OP is the prevalent version I'm finding. I have noticed that some have a 3-18v working range and others have a 4.2v max. I'm thinking I like the 3-18v range because it will give me more option for future projects.

So can you steer me to good source?

Just ran across this Ultrafire CREE XM-L T6 1-Mode White Light Drop-in LED Lamp Module for less than $14 shipped

Only draw back is it has an OP reflector....never heard of the supplier either.

Solarforce and Manafont both have decent ones.

You can get a 3-mode with memory, it basically becomes a 1-mode if you never manually change modes. But if you need longer battery life, you can use the lower modes.

The reason for the 1-mode is I want to build some weapon lights with pressure switches. Don't want the lights changing modes.

Send E1320 a pm when he gets back from vacation, and he can make one for you.

BTW, did that reflector I sent ever land ?

i think they work great with xm-l emitters. check out kd, they have several, including a warm white i am seriously considering.

Maybe you want to give this XM-L U2 a go for under $12.00? I used to own but fried it (E1320 probably had a good laugh at it when I sent it to him). It's not gonna be terribly bright with one cell because of the 3V-18V range. I'm curious how well it works on multiple cells. I wanted it for one 18650 and didn't realize the difference in output versus powering it with multiple cells, which it wants.

in the above post. good point about likely being optimized for multi-cell though.

So with this info I'm back to the Solar Force. It would be nice to have more than one option.

......If only I could find an off the shelf single mode that regulates the emitter to put out maximum illumination through the 3-18v range.

any of the kd ones?

If I remember correctly, those T6 XM-L dropins from Kaidomain are driven around 1,6A.

Not the most what you can get out of it but IMO pretty sweet considering heat management with P60.

Those KD V2 drivers would also be pretty sweet but they cannot be configured to 1-mode only.

If you ever find fully driven 1-modes, PM me :D

Is the single mode U2 linked above also only driven at 1,6A?

I don´t know, I had only other ones.

Quick and dirty method: Get any 7135 based board and connect Battery_+ to V_DD of a AMC 7135 of your choice.

A little bit more efficient: Also disconnect V_cc of the used microcontroller.

Welcome to the forum .

I know some are happy with their Solarforce drop-ins but I've never liked them. I have an under-performing P7 that competes in brightness with a Mag-Lite Solitaire, an SST-50 I've fried twice and of the two single-mode XM-Ls I have; the one that still works is just a tad brighter than my Tank E07.

Maybe I'm just unlucky . . .

Thanks, I will try this!

I'd try it if I had a clue what those items were.

Well this is disappointing. I just ordered a 1-mode SolarForce module because of its good reputation, and lack of finding anything else that would fill my need.

There just has to be a company out there that produces a P60 drop-in XML T6 single-mode that is regulated and well driven in the 3v-18v range.....or is it just in my dreams......
