Dedicated sub-forum for ONLY polls?

What do you think about having a dedicated sub-forum just for polls? I'm a big fan of polls because they're almost an effortless method for taking a snapshot of opinions and data. They only get annoying when they're frequently used for jokes and off-topic subjects. I just feel bad about starting one too often because I don't want to bump someone else's poll from the main page (side bar). Then the polls could live in without being buried and data could continue to be collected.

What do you think? And would it have been too corny to start a poll about polls?

I fail to see how the proposed sub-forum would help with poll visibility, especially when non off-topic polls can be placed in the appropriate sub-forums of the polls' topic.

If I'm missing something, please let me know....when you drink as much Vodka as I do during the day, details get, uh, fuzzy.

Well.. I've got a few glasses of some pretty high class $3.00 discontinued wine in me already so my explanations might start sounding, uh.. incoherent

I mean that a forum designated specifically for polls will keep them more visible because they're not getting pushed down by the dozens of daily threads. Polls will always be less frequent so they'll obviously be easier to be seen if they're in a place of their own. I see it as a depository for data. When it comes to polls it seems the newest one will tend to overshadow the one that preceded it. Then the person who created it feels shafted because it drew less attention than hoped for. What would be ideal is if they would get timed out after one week, for example, and then they move on to the Polls Sub-forum where they still live on without being buried behind pages of new threads.

Honestly, I only advocate this idea because I'm too used to using the main page that combines all the forums. Otherwise I think too many sub-forums is counterproductive.
