MRV giveaway - CLOSED

Closing at midnight GMT, Monday 15th November so Just 26 hours to go.

I said I'd do a giveaway once the one at Jayki was complete. It ends with October so will end in about 18 hours.

How would people want this to be done?

There will be no cost to anyone - the light and postage to anywhere on the planet will be covered by me.

If any winner is from another planet, I might want help with the postage Wink

My thinking runs along the lines of getting a list of people who want to win it and handing the list to my colleagues at work to make the draw.

If anyone has any strong opinions about this please let me know before I start.

I'm thinking that I'll open the draw in the first week of November and close it two weeks later.

If anyone wants to contribute a second or third place prize (I'd strongly recommend something small and light), feel free to PM me.

I will have a look for a second prize in the bag of 100 lights.

Thoughts anyone?

People in the draw: Updated 22:10 UTC 20101115

Just to make it clearer - everyone is in the draw for the Romisen.

I'll make sure that at least one prize goes to someone in the Romisen list.

For the 2nd or 3rd prize (your decision Don), I'll donate my grey Romisen RC-N3 ll Q5 that I bought from ShiningBeam.com last March 30, 2010, since I never use it.  It's been sitting in a storage box I use for torches I hardly ever use.  It looks brand new since I have never used it other than putting batteries in it to make sure it works.

Thanks for that!

That's the second prize. It probably cost more than the first prize!

The more the merrier.

That did cross my mind...

We started planning the Christmas stuff in May.

But then I am a pastor and that's what we do...

Here's hoping that 6 weeks is enough to get it anywhere on the planet in time for Christmas.

Like i said, off-planet is anyone's bet Smile

But you will have to tell the Royal FMail how to get it there.

Here's my suggestion:  I think you should put all the names (minus ours/mine of course) in a box or bucket and you, or whoever you prefer, pick out the names of the winners.

6 weeks should be fine hopefully but I'm pretty sure that whoever wins will understand if it doesn't arrive in time.

Perhaps they need to think this through a bit: Smile

John 2:10-11 The person who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no reason for him to stumble. But the person who hates his brother is in the darkness and lives in the darkness. He does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

agenthex]</P> <P>fishinfool, you have an improperly unclosed [quote wrote:
tag in your post above http://www.budgetlightforum.cz.cc/node/778#comment-11091. It's kind of messing up the formating of the thread, and I can't seem to close it by messing with my posts down below. Perhaps you can edit your post (use only text) and fix it.

How's that?

Rules tomorrow.

I'd appreciate it if the folks who already have one of these didn't enter. I can't enforce this and won't even try to do so.

We will have three prizes: an MRV SE, a Romisen RC-N3 II Q5 (Thanks Fishinfool!), and a mystery third prize - it is a mystery because I've not yet decided what it will be - but it will cost less than $5 and will probably come direct from HK. Postage from here makes it cheaper to order it from an HK retailer and get them to ship it to whoever wins it.

Rules as soon as I've decided what they are. There will be only one entry per person.

It didn't work. Please try removing the quotes from that post (and the one right above). You can tell because the page looks different to all the other ones (blue instead of white background around the posts).

The problem is I think because a </div> tag got stucking in <p>aragraph block and the division was never closed. It's caused by formating around the quote blocks. This is a bug in the forum software.

Any better?  If that doesn't work then I'll just delete the whole post.

That fixed your post (you can tell because your footer now looks fine), but Don quoted you in #11, so it's still make the formatting a bit wierd (you can kind of tell by the way the post surrounds his footer). Now its up to Don to fix it :).  I've deleted my prior posts about this so as to not derail the thread.

I don't know why it does that.  I just do a normal quote like I've always done before but this one seems to cause problems.  :~

OK, here we go. I'm just using Matt's rules as they make sense.

Rules are simple

1/ Reply to this thread

2/ Post the following =   "I want the MRV" or "I want the Romisen"

3/ 1 entry per person

4/ Everyone who says I want the MRV will also be in the draw for the Romisen. If you say, I want the Romisen I will not put you in the draw for the MRV but will for the other two prizes. Everyone is in for the third prize.

You need to post [ I want the MRV ] or you will not go in the draw , ok !

Draw will be AKA lucky dip , in other words a number will be drawn and that person wins , its that easy ..

No money , no postage fees , 100% free to everyone ...

There are three prizes, first prize the MRV SE as reviewed here and here

The Second prize thanks to fishinfool is a Shiningbeam Romisen RC-N3 II Q5

The third prize will be the item of your choice up to a value of $5 from the HK dealer of your choice

If I can get my assistant to do the draw, I'll provide video.

Not sure how I'd manage that though - maybe print out the names and put them in a bag along with something attractive to dogs and see what sticks to her chin when she gets it out.

Edited for clarity

I plan to do the draw after the 15th of November so will accept entries until midnight UTC on Monday 15th November.

I hope this will allow plenty of time for the prizes to reach the winners in time for Christmas.

And, by the way, welcome magnet!

Good to have you here.
