I remember reading that Krytox is some of the best lube I can put on my light threads. So, I put some on my threads.
My 4Sevens Quark X 1232 hasn't been used much but the threads very quickly got very gritty and the grease turned aluminum colored. I know this isn't good. I took a lot of time cleaning the threads out and applying fresh grease. It immediately happened again. Five turns and the grease was dark grey. I don't like that.
After removing all of the Krytox from my light, I went back to old faithful - Mobil1. Everything seems to be well now.
Is my eighty dollar a tube Krytox no good for flashlights?
