usps tracking

Has anybody else noticed much of a change in tracking performance? Tracking used to only give very limited info. Usually I would only get that an item was shipped and that I got it, sometimes it would show that the item arrived at my local P.O.. Lately it has been showing every step of the way from H.K. to my door.

I never realized before that a significant chunk of the shipping time was occurring while the package is in the U.S.. The last three orders from SF sales have made it to the U.S in two days. They usually spend two to three days in ISC, which I assume is customs and then two to three days to me. All in all it seems pretty efficient to me. Irritates me that other vendors(DX,Manafont,KD) take so long to get things into the mail when I know that they can be to the U.S. in two days once posted.

Opposite here. Payed for tracking from Manafont $2 or so. 3 days after shipping, tracking finally showed accepted at New York Customs. I must have checked on it 100 times... Twelve days later I check again and it finally updates..... I check on it and it is in my city for delivery today. Terrible tracking and I am considering never paying for tracking again...

I figure they'll know if it doesn't get delivered, so why pay...no peace of mind on my part...am i wrong?

I always considered tracking as additional insurance. It's one more piece of info that can be referenced if there's a loss of the parcel, similar to putting your contact info in your luggage when travelling.

Remuneration for lost items may be more difficult (or impossible) without it, depending on the carrier's policies.

I have noticed this. On Ebay, I hit the tracking icon and it will go to the USPS site, sometimes I will get different information if I go to straight to the USPS site. One site will say acceptance, where the other site will say in transit. Also, I have had buyers on ebay post up positive feedback because they have recieved their item, but the USPS tracking hasn't recorded it yet.

IMO, nothing to worry about. Just remember to check in several USPS sites for info..

Yeh, I checked several places. I just hate payin the tracking if it's this inefficient.

I only order from Manafont and once from Focal. I read reviews where Manafont parcels were lost and buyers had no tracking yet Manafont made it good.

So, I guess my question is really this...Even though the purchaser chooses to not purchase the tracking doesn't the BIG shipper , like Manafont, have some source of record tracking to whether their shipment made it to the recipient or not?

I ordered the 7G5 V2 on 2/1/2012 and it has been in New York since the 10th and it hasn't changed. When is it ever going to leave there? I ordered it from Hank at IOD.
