WTB/WTT: Fenix L1T/L2T (old version with Luxeon III)

Has anyone an old, long forgotten L1T or L2T lying around and can think of selling/trading it ?

Condition doesn't matter at all (can be defective, with shattered lens and scratched reflector, no pill, broken switch, whatever) as long as the threads are OK.

In case you wonder: The L1T was my first "real" LED flashlight and has been with me on quite a lot of travels all around the world. And I just destroyed it :(( Being nostalgic and having all the inner parts left in excellent condition I would like a replacement body (actually I mostly need just the head)

Thanks in advance,

Huny

Bump.

No one?

Always wanted one. Never thought it was worth that much money. I own quite a lot of Luxeon 3 lights - just not any Fenixes.

How badly do you want one? There are 2 on the German bay of E's, but at a very steep price for such an old tech.

Swapped the LED with a SSC P4 a while ago. Fantastic beam profile and much brighter than the old Lux III.

Thanks, Vectrex. I saw that too but it's way too expensive. I paid EUR 49.95 in 2006 (bought at Globetrotter in Germany ;) ) when it was new in Europe. I would happily pay half of that price, i.e. 25 €, for a used one but that ebay-seller must be coming from a strange planet if he really expects that people will pay that much.

Well, I will keep the badly burned body of my sample as a reminder that a butan torch is not a safe tool to heat treat HA III (at least not in my hands).

Great ..!!

now i want one :)

Yes I've got one of those..I've linked some pictures for you (sorry full res 2.6Mb). Its has an LED upgrade to an R2 that was salvaged from a P60 with a blown board.

L1T head came off and the brass emitter module unscrewed no problem at all. The removal of the old 3 watt led was a complete pain , it de-soldered easy enough but was so solidly attached with the heat paste that a slip of the pliers ended up with a mashed led but that meant it came off

I removed the emmiter (what was left) as well as the fibre washer. Then cleaned up the top of the brass pill. I dropped a small neodynium magnet into the small resess where the 3watt heatsink had been as it was the best fit I had, also the - feed to the circuit was soldered to the top of the pill and kept as flat as possible. The R2 emitter had quickly de-soldered from the p60 and was on a small 16mm board that fitted into the pill with space to spare. I fixed the magnet into the recess with some shin-etsu heat sink paste and put a generous dollop on the top and placed the emitter in place and soldered up the + & -. Tested fine first time.

The R2 needed the reflector hole enlarged and this was done with a craft knife and just rotating the removed reflector to enlarge the hole. The insulating washer from the top of the p60 module was placed ontop of the emitter before screwing the pill into the head again. Everything screwed back together and fit to reflector was fine.

So a working r2 L1T that has a high and low. Also on 14500 the boost circuit goes Direct drive and chucks out even more light. The beam is a mix of hotspot and floody corona due to the changed focus point on the reflector but that is good for outdoors and so far running on high with a AA has shown virtually no heat generation due to the lower mah draw.

Good link about output and draw http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?141896-Cree-XR-E-in-Fenix-L1-2T-%28vs.-UWAJ-stock%29

Finish is fine. No chips or anything that I can see, also got the original hanging pack box and the spare switch cap with 2 spare o rings. Also the line on the head photos I think thats from the flash or camera, the lens does not have a crack in it.

Drop me a message and we can sort something out via paypal or trade.

Thanks, squidboy!

Yeah, removing the Luxeon III was a PITA. Mine cracked, too. Fortunately SSC P4 was a direct replacement, though (bare emitter).

Will PM you.
