It is very annoy. The ones I can't stand are the ones who make irrelevant, or occasionally semi-relevant posts just so that a website in a signature will show up in search results.

THOSE really bug me.

BLF get bigger and more interesting for such people. If only 1-2% of the members take a look at the spamhomepage and buy something, the spammer made some money

I admit that it's juvenile... but I enjoy making fun of obvious spammers. It's my way of letting them know that they are not welcome here. When doing so, it's important to quote the spammer because paisley will get deleted if enough people mark it as SPAM. It's also wise to break their hyperlinks in your quote so that no one can follow their links after their post is deleted. It's usually a waste of time to make any comment in a thread started by a spammer because frequently the entire thread gets deleted. What I hate the most are paisleybots that post massive amounts of paisley. I do, however, like the word paisley.

This is what I'm talking about. A ten for ten on the humor scale. Question is, does she get it?

I would make another thread with a poll if the days are rainy. And so on then the links in the signature will sure be clicked by many people. :) And also reply form time to time so the links are visible.

For FOOKS sake!

Now they're spammimg the spam threads?

Don't quote the spammer and the links.

Definitely is more spam and links remain after the spam was removed if 5 members clicked Mark As Spam.

Also the more we type in this thread is a spam, the more this focalXXX user posts, the more Google is going to recommend focalxxx. Like these people care about spam, they know what's sensitive to some and try to create discussion which in the end lays more and more focalxxx posts in signature and Google rankings.

You're right! I propose to eliminate these useless signatures

Quick and - really - dirty one minute method to add nofollow tag to any link in a variable (PHP):

This way, you don't stop spam directly, but you make spamming worthless for the spammers. And spammers with IQ > 10 will know and check for nofollow tags before investing time spamming a website. Just saying...

Not a bad idea.

Marc.
