Best batteries for maximum STL-V2 runtime

I have the Maxtoch SN - the OEM original on which Skyray and Fandyfire models are based/named. Very well made product and a GREAT hunting light.

Wondering what would be the best easily available 18650s to get best runtime for the XML. Currently using Trustfire flame 2400mAh batts which give me an hour and a quarter on full power, but a friends SN is only getting half hour before cut off.

Am considering Manafont's new Trustfire 3000 mAh batts but these have tested out at at just 2600 or so. Have also found this site with a few claimed 3000-4000mAh options. I don't know this site and don't know the batts:

Am well aware alot of Chinese claims (e.g. lumens and mAh) mean very little, and would appreciate some help to find some good capacity batts ideal for this XML - batts that are affordable, available to overseas buyers (New Zealand).

The Maxtoch SN - tested here recently - is one helluva hunting torch. Good spill, great distance, and as much power as many truck spotlights. A great light - esp for the price.

Xtar 2600mAh's would do their job quite well, unlike Trustfire 3000mAh they are from known manufacturer (Sanyo) and they're just a tiny bit more expensive.

Can the Xtars be bought from an international supplier like DX etc or only available US?

The cheapest with the highest capacity are these from IOS. That is if we are strictly talking about 2 batteries. Or you can buy 4 XTARs and have a good runtime for the money.

Have checked the IOS site - was wondering if the 3100mAh Panasonics are genuine, and if they are $13.96 for one batt or for the pair. Have sent them a pm. If $13 for two, they could be a very good deal.

Thanks for the advice guys.

Just got IOS answer and the Panasonics are $13.96 for one batt. Twice the price of say the new Trustfire 3000s which rate around 2600mAh. I wonder if the Panasonics give twice the runtime/value?

Can't find Xtars on any int'l sites.

Try checking this thread, there you can find information (e-mail address etc).

It's basically 3100mAh vs 2600mAh and that is not twice of course. But if you want the best runtime based on only two cells those are the cells. Best runtime for the money are 2600 cells.
