Cousin is Needing a Good Gun Light

Here is the gun he needs a light for...

Price range is anywhere up to $100. Needs an ultra-low low with the longest possible runtime. Also, I'm considering getting him a brand name as this one will need to withstand frequent use.

It's a Beretta PX4 Storm Subcompact. You can see the small Picatinny rail underneath the front barrel. The qualities he's looking for in a light are:

1) Must fit the weapon correctly. There are 3 different barrel lengths on the PX4 Storm models. He owns the smallest one.
2) Medium price/quality. Nothing too fancy, but not bargain-bin either. Under $100 is ideal.
3) Enough lumens to properly illuminate a dark, close/medium quarters environment in a combat situation.

This is the smallest I could find with a decent run time (1.5 hours). It's around 90 lumens so it's plenty bright for a dark room, and it's around $90 shipped.

You might be better off asking in a Beretta forum or something like that where people have tried many different lights on that gun and found the best size vs runtime.

That light takes a CR2 primary battery (3V Nominal) so it's possible the battery could be replaced with a 15270 li-ion battery. The 15270 li-ion come in 3.0V Nominal (Protected) and 3.7V Nominal (Protected) voltage selections. You can get the batteries at madvapes. If you need the special charger to charge 3.0V li-ion batteries, XTAR makes one and you can get that at Manafont.

You have to contact the manufacturer and see if the light can handle the 4.2V of the fully charged 3.7V 15270 battery. If it can't, then it will handle the fully charged 3.3V of the 3.0V 15270 battery.

I run the 15270 3.7V li-ion in all my weapon mounted green lasers (in place of the CR2) and haven't had a problem with any of them. I did contact all the manufacturer first though (NC Star) and they said it should be fine.

This one looks pretty small and has good reviews, but I can't find a run time listing anywhere.

You could probably ask the owner of the website what the run time is. For $40, it's worth a gamble...

I really think he is going to need to go to a gun shop and try a couple lights on for size to see what he thinks looks correct for his weapon. I have played around with some of the cheap Chinese knockoff lights and they are not reliable enough for me to recommend one.

I own the factory Glock light it fits my subcompact Glock 30 nicely. A standard holster can be a problem when it's installed. It's $90 from a variety of vendors and reliability is not going to be an issue.

I also own the Insight MX6 it fits my full size Glock perfect but it is to big for the subcompact and cost almost $300. After owning this one for many years I can say it is very high quality reliable piece.

I don't own this one but the insight X2 looks like it will fit and priced at $109 it is a good deal for the quality and reliability you are getting.
