There are many posts with beamshots of various lights. Most are taken outdoors in near total darkness. Others are taken on a white wall. Well, I thought I would go against the grain and take some pictures in a factory setting with plenty of ambient light, against a black wall. Okay maybe it's a dark grey wall, but you get the idea.... When I get a new light, I like to give it a test on this wall, so I figured some pics might help someone out there as well.
These shots are very uncontrolled. Lots of sand, smoke and nastiness floating around, so a good camera wasn't used. I used my old cell phone camera (C905 8 megapixel) since I had to both sneak it in and expose it to the elements. The Zebralight was taken on a different day, so no guarantees of the same air quality when the pic was taken. Though I took journalism in college, it's quite obvious that I dropped out, so enough with the words and on to the beamshots :)

As impressive as the XM-L thrower looks compared to the XP-G thrower, just remember there's no way I'd carry around the X9 in my pocket all day. I can't carry the big lights in a holster either, because they're bezel up, and there's an issue with hot iron that I'd rather not expose my lenses to.... I will try to post more lights, it's interesting to me seeing how they compare. I actually had my Skyray STL-V2 ready to go one day but didn't get the chance to take pics... we'll see.
Nice true application beamshots. Yup, my money is on a foundry. Look to the right in the photo's, you'll notice two small silos that I assume are carbon injectors (Whirlair or Asbury?). And yes, motlen metal is a bugger to work around :)
I like beam shots of all kinds and I especially like to compare different people's beam shots of the same light or, others' beam shots to mine of the same light.
Although i'm a metallurgical engineer, i hate urine smelling of ammonia cringe on me. Your gloomy pictures remindes my unlucky working career in foundary. God bless you from molten metal and chemical gasses :)
