O-rings

Ok, I'm not sure what size to get, or where to get them. I'm mainly needing some o-rings for my STL-V2. I noticed both tubes have a place for 2 o-rings but only have 1. But I'm collecting quite a few lights of various sizes and I'd like to just find some cheap o-rings to just have extras in case I might need them. I'm sure there must be local sources as well, but even then I wouldn't know exactly what I was looking for and they would almost certainly be more expensive than a bulk Chinese purchase anyways.... Just give me your o-ring knowledge kind sirs!

Lighthound and Shiningbeam both sell them in batches of various sizes.

I got most of mine from DX (1.5mm thick), and then some from CNQG for the thinner ones (1mm). The really thin ones (0.7mm thick) I got from ebay.

I picked up one of these from Harbor Freight awhile ago. I haven't used any yet, don't know if the exact needed sizes are in it, but I figured it was good to have on hand. I also think it was on sale when I picked it up.

I go to ACE hardware and root through the bins. They have millions of them.

Thanks for the ideas.

I'm always amazed at what you can find at a good Ace hardware in the hardware department. I recently sourced a stainless steel tensioner bolt for my Brooks saddle for around $2.00. OEM from Brooks England - $30.00. Bring the light into Ace with you, you should have no problem finding a match.

Keep in mind that 'O' rings are made of different compounds. Some are neoprene, some are rubber, some are other compounds. Rubber will break down with the use of petroleum based lubricants, Neoprene is safe.
