D cell container and treatment

So I recently got a TK70 with Tenergy D cells and would like know if you guys can recommend a solid, budget waterproof storage container for 4 Ds.

Also, is it recommended to store the Ds in the fridge to let them keep the capacity (like f.e. 18650s)?

Well, how about a cheap Otter/Peli-style box? Something like that (although this one might be a little bit too small)

Or you could use a length of PVC pipe like this:

Always usefull, many different diameters, watertight and it's plug and play.

OR: not budget, but VERY durable: a 4D Mag ;)

1 1/4" pvc

I like the PVC pipe solution but how would I seal the ends? Is it common that something like "caps" are offered in stores selling those pipes?

Certainly is. You could even put a threaded coupler on the end of the pipe then a threaded cap so you could screw/unscrew the main cap. Plain end caps will fit plenty snug simply pressed into place but can be tough to remove if you accidentally bump the end or drop it, forcing it even tighter onto the tube.

I do know I'd go the PVC route if I needed what you want.

+1, grease the caps w/ your flashlight grease

home depot sells pre-cut 2 ft sections of pvc pipe here - they cost about the same as a 10 ft - like $3 for 1 1/4" if I remember correctly. unthreaded caps are like $.50 or $1

Haha, I like that BUDGET talk! Thank you guys, I'll check next time I'm going to be in the store for the pipes.

Now anybody knows anything about storing the Tenergy cells in the fridge?

|According to one of the more useful places for such knowledge.

Performance degrades if stored at elevated temperatures; should be stored in a cool place at about 40 percent state-of-charge
