XPG R5 P60 from DD

Has anyone got one of these? What do you think I have 2 L2's on way I bought DD's XML drop-in but I'm thinking of an XPG for the other one. I don't like blinky modes but this seems a good price.

Marc.

I had this once. But 5 mode drivers usually are rated to a 8.4V max so I didn't try any higher than this. The beam was clean and bright. Worked well in a single cell light but it will most probably give a better runtime graph with two cells. I sold this drop in to someone with a Surefire G2 and he seemed to have liked it with 2xCR123s.

It really is a good buy. These cheap drop-ins usually have reflectors full of dusts or small irregularities. I don't know if I were lucky but the reflector was a high quality, mirror finish SMO one. The pictures show an OP reflector though.

It does seem cheap and I was planning on running it with one cell, in an L2. I personally don't like all the modes, I would rather just have strobe and SOS! Only joking! H-M-L would do for me, but for some reason they seem to be mainly 5 mode. Anyway It won't break the bank, so I'll probably just order it.

Thanks for your reply, Marc.

The XPG is my favorite led on P60 hosts, discrete very usable beam, nice autonomy and throw more of an xml but in everything bigger like a C8 is better an xml

I bought another xpg flashlight at DD 1 month ago, the 504b at 10$, just 2$ more.. but still waiting it

Is that deal still on?

Marc.

no sry:( I was shilling the link if was xD

was that now is 15$, they have crazy prices you know :/

is interesting that uniquefire at 14$

I might buy one of those drop-ins. I decided against the L2 in the end and bought a couple of UF 504b's instead http://www.dinodirect.com/ultrafire-wf504b-led-flashlight-5mode-600lumen-xm-lt6.html Brilliant lights for the money.

Also bought one of these : http://lightake.com/detail.do/sku.L2_Flashlight_Body_Tube_with_Extension_Tube_Silver-30640 which is reviewed here: https://budgetlightforum.com/t/-/1399 (More on it elsewhere).

The 504bs are XM-L and I really want to see how an XP-G compares. And the OP drop-in at 8.4 V would let me run 2 X 18650 in the SF clone (if I have the nerve; lot of warnings about having to use identically charged batteries in multi li-ion set-ups)

I checked MM's link to the Uniquefire, looks like a good deal. While I was there I saw this one: http://www.dinodirect.com/led-flashlight-ak45-1000lumens-aluminium-alloy-cree-t6.html?AdAnalytics=301|00240001000400030003|2|0 Never heard of the brand. Wish there was some way of knowing why some of these apparently identical looking torches were so different in price

I also got this deal, as far as I remember it was 1-mode R5 dropin.

It was clean and worked well, gave it away already.

MixoMaxo:

As for Uniquefire UF-V4 I got this on order recently:

Almost for the same price

I saw that torch (anowl) but I thought it was expensive. A solarforce L2 is $8.99 and I bought the DD stars XML T6 1000lm drop in for $9.69. That's a saving of $10.

Marc.

looking the photos.. the head is more big of what i thought... btw is 16.50$ at CNQG/manafont ...ships are free at CNQG? Never used

while at DD you can use the coupon 15SAVE2 to save 2$ on 15$, just add an item from 1,1$ ...plus surveys :P

found that... UF-V4 came today. 8 days later, it's dead. maybe is not a great deal...

That's a good deal, alright. Makes me wish I wasn't so avid about tailstand. That anowl(?) is a bit pricey for me too, specially for a name I've not heard of. And when you can buy a 504b for almost half the money..

I ordered a drop-in, hope they turn out ok. Reading the DD reviews though, some of them seem to be talking about different items. Different voltages mentioned, different reflectors, different modes.. Fingers crossed..
