Yup - there's an issue. Someone hacked us.

Stand by... be right back.

We Are Legion.

We are Flashaholics.

We Are Anonymous.

Expect us.

At first I understood that someone with alias "Greta" has signed in here

Maybe one more beer.

Greta, I'm the Chain Saw Massacre, I've got my eye on you!

Aren't you in the wrong place for that. NY isn't very near Texas :P

*beer in to mouth -> out from nose*

Pounder, you....

Scotty, beam me up and out! When you've got technology, you're never too far :)

Hmmm....let's look at probability. Is it (a)more likely that a website was targeted by a true-blue hacker, or that (b)a certain greedy little piggy who is too cheap to pay someone for maintenance is in WAY over their wee curly tail with this whole interwebs thing?

Is it more likely that a website find itself a target of Anonymous, or that its frequent outages, far in excess of ANY populated site I've ever seen, are caused by incompetent management and complete absence of any professional maintenance services?

Occam's razor, b!tches.

So you guys over here seem to dislike CPF? Why? Both forums are full of helpful people and good information, why the hate.

because they think their s**t doesn't stink.

While Glenn may distill the sentiment down to its purest essence, it's also the culture of abuse and disdain toward those with questions -all new members- that drives folks away.

Those that aren't banned for asking questions, that is.

I joined last November and have asked a ton of questions and have not had a single issue over there. I like both forums and will keep posting on both.

Chicago, thanks for going into a bit more detail than me

@ bose301s

Most of the BLF members have had bad experiences with CPF moderators in the past. The majority of CPF users are great people and have lots of knowledge. The way budget lights are treated over there (mainly by the mods) and the obvious protection of paying supporters to the point where all objectivity is gone has rubbed many BLF members in a wrong way... therefore some of the over the top comments here. The continuity of technical issues, while having a larger income from all the paying supporters didn't help to raise the faith in CPFs leadership either.... with that kind of money one would assume an almost bombproof infrastructure of the site.

i'm just not into talking about consumer products in a forum where you can't post a freaking link to them

I enjoy a light significantly more if I got it for $10, when 99% of the world pays $15, (x10 if fan boys pay $100 for the same output and a name). good luck catching those deals over 'there'

oh, and here you can talk about a $6 light here w/o being patronized.

although...not even the cheap skates over here like my plastic lights much

It is sort of a common bond among some of us. We have been banned, at one time or another, or permanently, from CPF. Most of the bans were trivial things, or just dumb reasons to flaunt power.

It is our badge of honor, and we wear it proudly. Just a little quirk about (some) BLF folks, not everyone. We do find their misfortunes entertaining....

Thanks, troop - that was a much more adult manner by which to describe the situation than I could muster. :)

Don't take it seriously.
