I came across this looking up Arc4 flashlight info, several pages into Google results.
What an awesome way to create a light.

i need that heatsink
Nice how this DIY kit actually gives a list of what you will need.
Funny how of all things to have a hard time finding, like a COOL 3D printer, the comments are where to get the led??? LMAO
Seriously, first thing needed:
"...Most of the parts are fabricated using a 3D printer..." LOL
Given that the light body is printed from ABS which is a pretty good insulator, you are going to need that heatsink - which is a stock Mouser part. Radial heat sink (Mouser PN: 588-SA-LED-151E). It's only $9 - heatsinks are usually not expensive but the shipping might be horrible.

It's actually not that hard to find a 3D printer. Check out http://www.reprap.org/wiki/Main_Page http://forums.reprap.org/. You can either semi DIY probably for less then US$800 or buy a prebuilt one for over US$1000.
Awesome links for the printers, thanks.
May sell my lathe and get one once I figure out what they are!!
Ok, pretty awesome watching the video.
Does anyone here have a 3D printer that has made a flashlight?
Please show it :)
More reasons .. actually one of the best reason for me to get a "maker bot". the wonders of 3d printing
