Issues with adding smileys, links & media to posts!

The last couple days I've been getting just a blank pop-up window when I try to add a link, an emoticon, or embed a pic or media file. At first I figured Chrome was somehow incompatible after an update. Installed the latest and greatest and still a blank pop-up. Today I decided to just get used to IE9 since CHrome was broken and I get the same thing except in IE9 I get an actual error:

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /sites/all/libraries/tinymce/jscripts/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/emotions.htm on this server.

Something is broken on the site or at least broken in my user permissions. Anyone else having this issue?

SmileI've posted with smileys and links several times with no issues...Smile

Using IE9...

No issues here on Firefox v11.0.

Johnny - I have the same issue on my iPhone, but no issue on Mac at home or the PC (Firefox) at work. Seems like I heard you might need to update Java. Laughing

Nah, it’s definitely a permissions issue according to the error. Java was already upgraded to current after all this started. Mr. Admin had to correct a permissions issue in the last week so maybe something else got hosed in the process. I have contacted him for a fix.

I'm going to mention this here in case anyone else is having odd issues getting BLF to display:

I imagine this is an issue with my ISP; I live in a rural area and my internet connection is via a tethered cell phone on the Verizon network.

On my home PC, I have been unable to access BLF for the past several days. The page will start to open and get as far as displaying the BLF banner and the search box, but no additional content will load. Eventually, it will time out and go to a 'page cannot be displayed' error. I am noting the exact same issue using IE9 and Firefox. I have cleared cookies/temp files but it did not help. I can visit other webpages normally; eBay, Gmail, and other sites work fine. BLF works fine from my work PC on our LAN connection.

Anybody familiar with this?

Hi everyone,

With respect to JohhnyMac's report, I noticed the same thing a week ago after I updated the post editor module, so I changed it again to a different version that works correctly. I suspect JohnnyMac just needs to clear his browser cache now to get the new fixed version of the post editor.

Keltex, if you still have the connection issue, could you please post a new thread about it? Thanks a lot!

Thanks to everyone for reporting these issues! Have fun.

W00t!

That work for you?
