For what it is worth, I have both drop ins from Solarforce. You will be much happier with the one they sent you. The XP-G 3 mode is way better than the XR-E. The XP-G throws out more light with a better larger beam and the run times are pretty close to each other, as the XP-G is more efficient. Just my 2 cents.
