Triple Xm-L on 1 PCB - - - in parallel?

I'm looking for one - do they exist? Looks like Cutter's are in serial.

The 3-up from the German LED shop is series or parallel.

Alternately, you can scrape the masking and break the traces on the Cutter board. It may look like sh!te, but it will work.

hmmm, decisions decisions

I'm going to make my plasticky headlamp mod into a triple, for more flood.

the led-tech price isn't bad, but shipping kind of kills it. maybe i'll just grind the pcb of 3 or 4 16mm U2s

maybe 4 would be better since i'm planning to just use the same reflector.

thanks

I have done this with the cutter boards just be carefull not to scrape through the traces. Works fine.

Scott

Sorry, yes you want to cut the traces, just don't scrape through them where you want to resolder. Also, if you reflow the LEDs in place yourself you can reverse the middle led in the series path and only need 3 wires:

Cut trace between L1 and L2 wire L1-to neg

Wire L2-(was L2+ on serial board) to neg

Scrape (do not cut) trace betwee L2 and L3 and wire to pos

Done.

Welcome to BLF, Rufusbduck.

Thanksfor the welcome mat. I've been searching for info on various projects but whenever I trip over a topic I've had experience with I enjoy making a contribution.

Scott

thanks for the tip.

i decided to go w/ cutter's 4 xb-d on one pcb. they're individually addressable and I would have been underdriving the xml anyway...

Be sure to request a notation for how to use the solder links (allows the various circuits without extra wires, 2s2p, 4s, 4p etc) without extra wires but is not included with the board and not shown on their website. Also, check your board as they sent me 2 with LEDs loaded improperly.

Scott

thanks, i plan to use 4p so I'll ask them to clarify.

you've tried the 4x XB-D?

I've used the 24mm round 4-up xte. The mixup happened with the square boards.
