Hugsby P31 OR Tank007 EO7 ?? Which one to buy ?

Sure I know ...buy both . But which one..if you could only have one ..??

It depends. If you want to keep it in a pocket or keychain, buy the Tank007. If you like a clip, get the Hugsby. The Hugsby is brighter and has a narrower beam. For close-up stuff under the desk, get the Tank. For outdoors stuff, get the Hugsby.

IMHO, the E07 was a poor design. I had to take apart the tail twisty screw and grind it down, put it back in the body and lock it in place permanently. Now I use the head as the twisty. It also has an old osram emitter that burns through batteries and gets hot real quick. For me (and without any contest) the P31 wins. Maybe a good question would be P31 or P32.

If its a small AA you want: for a more compact, lighter, more efficient and far better built budget AA light than the E07, Id suggest the ITP A2 EOS. They use XP-E, have 3 modes and can run on AA or 14500. I run mine almost exclusivley on 14500 without problems and get about 2 hours burn on AA Eneloops if left on high. Far more on med or low.

What about regulation and runtime with 14500? Does it gets hot? Thanks.

I havent tested runtime with 14500. Id guess 30-40 min on high. As with all well driven single AA flashlights built in this form factor while using 14500, it will get hot on high mode (show me one that doesnt). But not hot enough that my hand cant keep it cooled within safe limits.

The AA-S1 gets warm rather than hot - coolest running ona 14500 I have.

Also probably the best bargain AA light for the price. I love the tint and perfect beam.
