direct drive

Sitting around tonight with nothing to do, I put together a direct drive dropin using a T6 and an unknown gutted driver. I wanted to see what a few batteries I had laying around could give. Rev.Jim 3.6A, TF Flame 3.1A, Callies Kustom Panasonic CGR 18650 CH 5.15A, TF Grey 3.5A. Love those Panasonic's.

they have so much power. absolutely incredible battery. everyday I think about ordering about a dozen more.

5.15A? Wow! I need a few for my DRY. What can a 14500 flame deliver? I'd really love to know if you have one handy. ;)

I have a triple XP-G just being to go into a micro-mag. DD might be the easiest way to feed it if it can deliver.

Dang! I've been contemplating the Panasonic cells but I think I may finally have to pull the trigger. However, I'm not familiar with the differences between all of them. Even just two quality cells for regular use would be almost necessary considering the time, effort and $$ we invest our lights.

I could kick myself for getting just 20. Can't remember what we paid for those . . . like $14 for 20 or something crazy like that? He had a bunch and I recall it took a few months for him to sell all of them. Had I known how great they were . . .

The 14500 didn't settle down like an 18650 but it bounced around between 2.9A and 3.1A.

I got 40 and was selling them for $3 bucks a piece. I wish I would have kept more of them I would have been set for life. I saw someone on a laser forum selling them for $9 bucks a piece.

You know what's crazy? I need to do a controlled run-time test to know exactly but they seem to hold a charge longer than an AW/IC 2900 that I think I paid $18 for. They also consistently pull higher amps than that AW does, too.

There're not the second coming but I wish the good Reverend would get some more.

This was a brand new I tested when I first got them I am sure they picked up after a couples.
