Since we seem to have a very diverse international community here, I thought I'd ask the most serious question in life that includes the entire planet: What's your hot beverage of choice, coffee or tea?
These are the two most consumed beverages in the world. Chances are YOU drink one of them regularly.
I'm a coffee drinker. I like to make hot tea once in a while because of its benefits, but for me it just doesn't compare to a good cup of mud. I pretty much only drink my own brewed coffee. I use a conical burr grinder and an Aeropress. This is daily for me and I don't skip a beat. However, I have a rule that I only drink the one brew for the day and nothing more. It's a little over 11 ounces. Nothing added. Just wonderful, black goodness of the bean.
Coffee for me. Sad part is Coffee can become as much of a hobby as flashlights with all the different varieties and roasters and grinders and ways to brew it. You can spend a small fortune on making a good cup of joe if you want to.
I agree, refining your taste for coffee can become quite costly if you let it happen. It seems crazy to think a person will spend $300+ just to grind the beans. My grinder was less than $90. The Aeropress can be had for $25 from Amazon and it's the best method for brewing, imo. It cleans so easily, too!
I understand tea is healthier, but I don't drink coffee in excess of the appropriate amount of caffeine either. A certain amount daily is actually good for you (to ward off certain diseases anyway). Then I go with locally made caffeine-free tea when I have some.
I have been a serious coffee nerd for many years. My espresso machine costed more than my car. I do drink green tea when I’m sick with the flu or stomach issues.
Tea (caffeinated with tons of sugar) and coffee (black, with tons of sugar or even Splenda). Decaff coffee can work, but not decaff tea so well. I love both, but partial more to tea.
