Would Sanyo XXX improve my Fenix LD10/LD20/E21 or other AA lights vs Eneloop Gen2

For use in my AA and 2*AA lights would I see any improvement by using Sanyo XXX instead of Eneloop Gen2 AA batteries?

Like brightness, run-time, something I dont know about?

My lights are just basic AA like Fenix LD, Klarus PA, etc

Many thanks!

Brightness: mostlikely not!

Run-time: yes

You ??? ...No

Your wife ??? ....Absolutely

:O

Regular Eneloops are stated to have 1900mAh minimal, 2000mAh advertised, XX are stated to have 2400mAh minimal and 2500mAh advertised.

So yeah, youll get 400-500mAh for additional runtime.

However, XX will last you max 500 cycles while regular 2nd gen Eneloops will do 1500 cycles max, according to their spec sheets ;)

I also agree, you will get more runtime.

missed your calling bro.

They indeed will last longer, but a 4-pack of XX'es costs as much as 8-pack of normal Eneloops - so carrying a spare 4-pack in your pocket (for total of 60% more capacity than a pack of XX'es) is something you should consider.

XX'es also lose on shelf life (self discharge), cycle life, and IIRC they also don't like being discharged as quick as normal Eneloops.

Thanks for a serious answer. I wondered why there is not more mention of XXX and the standard recommendation is usually Gen2 eneloops, now I know a bit more. I think I will just keep my eneloops then...

I have 8 XX 2500 and they hit 2600+. I figure these batts will die of old age before I ever hit 500 charges. I think these 1500 cycles are more marketing/hype then reality. Charging once a week that comes out to 30 year lifespan I don"t think so. I also use Eneloop and Imedion 2400.
