Lowes Kobalt 500 Lumen Light

I saw this at Lowes today at lunch and it is now reduced to $60. It looks like a XML LED. I have a Jet Beam BC40 so I really don't need it.

There is some reviews over at CPF. One guy stated that it would accept 2 X 18650 in place of 3 CR123's???

I have no idea.

Every single review left on the Lowes site was a positive one.

Yea I am trying to talk myself out of getting it . I think it comes with a one year guarantee.

It says that it is not waterproof?? I wonder if that could be fixed?

I saw one of those (at the old price) at my local Lowe's a few weeks ago. It's the only XM-L flashlight I've seen in the wild. It looks like a beefy C8-class light that would be conservatively driven (based on the 500-lumen rating). Just examining it in the package, it seems rather heavy so I assume decent heat sinking; per the Lowe's specs, .47 lbs. It seems like a decent light, but the high-price and 3x CR123A cell configuration are deal-killers.

I believe that would be 18500s.

Or maybe even two protected 18350s.

It's too expensive to play with.
