$20 - 140lm Spotlight Motion Sensor = practical LED application

+ =

3-D cells gives 40hr runtime, so about 4800 uses assuming 30 second mode (auto-off option in two minutes as well). Only comes on when it detects nighttime, so that should drastically save battery life. Great reviews too -- some reported using it inside as an energy saver (it is neutral white), which is especially true if you have lightswitch leaver-onners. Most importantly, however, is that this is a legit security option that capitalizes on LED effiency. Even more so if you have a big plot and lack a 24/7 maglite-wielding droid army.

Comes with two mounts, one for sticking in the ground and one for screwing it in to things. Everything else is below:

The Mr. Beams version calls it a "spotlight"

...but it's identical to this Dorcy-branded "floodlight"

I had a somewhat similar one I bought years ago. It really nice but a tad too cold light.
