Just got some spam mails from a site called Newfrog - anyone else got spam from them??

I got the spam in my normal mailbox that I also subscribe to from lighthound, DX, DD and so on. But I never visited something called newfrog and I cannot for the life of me unsubscribe.

I ask because maybe we can pinpoint which site is giving/selling the mail adresses by comparing who has problems and where they have shopped.

BTW I HATE SPAM in all shapes and sizes so any help is appreciated.

I've ordered from an Ebay seller which turned out to be New Frog, but that was quite awhile ago and I no longer get emails from them.

I have one email I exclusively use for DD. No spam from newfrog so yo can rule that one out.

Gmail does a very good job of filtering spam I virtually never see them in my inbox.

I googled it and this might give you some clue.

Hmmm? Well they go to null where it is dark and cold and no one is ever heard from again. I´ll never buy from them. EVER! I hate that spam thing.

Ebay has plenty of spam preferences. You probably have checkboxes ticked next to "send affiliate promotional e-mail" or somesuch setting. I don't particularly like it either when I get offered insurance for my $0.85 item from ebay, but, really, who cares.

There are plenty of more efficient spam fighting techniques. I've personally single handedly taken down one site and that (ab)user's primary mail address by sending out a few sharpshooter mails to the "just right, spot on" abuse report mail addresses.

For a while I've been doing that actively, and it really works, but In the end my conclusion was that it's not worth it. Takes more time and effort than clicking "Report as spam". And there's always two new fresh spammers tomorrow for each you take down today.

Now I do it only if I get really upset by the spam content. Which isn't often. When some spam manages to slip by gmail's filter. Which isn't often either.

I think to deal with such kind of question, you just need to contact the NewFrog.com customer service to help you.
The reason why your email get that subscribe is that you email has been exposure to the public, and maybe the unsubscribe button is not working,

I also have been contact the sales@newfrog.com for help!!!

Too funny …you are newfrog.com and can be seen here http://www.newfrogblog.com/1370.html and many other places. First up, you have stolen the email addresses from paypal then sent them mail with no way to get off your lists and every contact is blocked. I have written to you many times and so have many others but you wont remove us.

…and if anyone complains then you block us on facebook as well.

and why are you pretending to be someone else here.

Whoah! From 2 years ago?

Purchased an item from Ebay Seller: heavenstores / aka papal id Newfrog.com / chinatera@gmail.com which resulted in, infrequent outside solicitations to my spam email account which the purchase was made upon.

On a Side note Shipping was fast, Item was better than original. And was inexpensive. ok ok it was a replacement remote for my camera priced $1 to my doorstep.

EDIT: to be accurate. the remote cost was actually $0.99 not $1

I’ve bought a few things from Ebay now, that arrived in these branded packages.

NewFrog seems to have a long history of desperate sales tactics:

> [ebay]
> checkboxes ticked next to “send affiliate promotional e-mail” or somesuch setting.

What? Where? I don’t know about that. Is there an eBay control panel with “somesuch setting”??

Yeah, my Gmail spam box is usually 50% Newfrog spam… :~

I've gotten things from ebay with Newfrog on the package but I don't get any email from them.

Now I feel left out. How do I get on the mailing list?
