:(( actually I didn't own any branded flashlights. I own 4 flashlights that converted to LED by me. 1 I built myself (hand made everything including body).
they all using Cree & Nichia LEDs

You know, we have another gentleman here that works without a lathe. We in fact call him, "the human lathe." Our very own, Old-Lumens.

it uses Nichia NVSW219 LED & 18650 battery that I salvaged from laptop battery pack.
Carlco plain tight optics. currently single mode only. (700mA) I used LDO regulator.

Welcome to the forum. I went on holiday some years ago to Sri Lanka, we stayed near Galle on the south west coast.
So much to see and do. But the best part was the people who live there, all very nice and welcoming.
