Who else just purchased the limited edition 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt? I went with one in OD. I was going to get the Multicam one also, but they didn't offer it as was suggested initially.

Why a kilt, you ask? I already own a few from Sport Kilt that I use for changing in parking lots and trailheads. There is nothing better, IMHO, after a long bike ride than getting damp lycra off and letting everything breathe. Besides, this one is tacticool!

The kilt allows you to change clothes anywhere without exposing yourself. For those that don't know the technique, you simply throw the kilt on over the bike shorts, then remove the shorts. Works at the beach or pool, also. No muss, no fuss, and, best of all, no jail time.

Before y'all poo-poo the idea, try it, you might like it. I know the girls do. :glasses: Actually, my wife mostly mocks me, but, with luck, YMMV. And, in any case, I don't give a rip. Will it draw attention whilst out in public, sure; but that happens all the time to me anyway because I'm sooo darn good looking. :Sp

Anyway, 5.11 is doing a limited, one time run with the pre-order window closing on May 3rd. The kilts are $60, but if you use the promo code FBFL20, you can save 20% and get them for $48. Not a bad deal, if you ask me.

Apparently not warm enough. Sad thing is I'm 1/2 Scot on my Dad's side and my wife is Scottish. Her brother is an expert bagpiper too. I really should have a kilt for history's sake alone. Besides, it would be another great way to embarrass my kids....

The Sipik is a bright green, but I'm close to pulling the trigger on an OD plastic Solarforce. I'm going to be styling!

BTW, candy bottle cap from one of the kid"s Easter baskets, not a real bottle cap. I'm macho, but not macho enough to eat metal.

Do you mean make a kilt? Or a nut bra? Either way, I'll venture a "yes". But this begs the question, would it still be tacticool?

My cousin says the only thing he wears under his kilt is shoes and occasionally , lipstick .

This is the budget forum and you know we don't like to pay full price for anything so I would suggest you go to Ross and buy some manly skirts. Just get them in manly outdoor colors and all the chicks will dig you and all the guys will be jealous :)
