Opinions on the ZTS MBT-1 Battery Tester?

What's the general consensus on this tester? I'm going to be testing Eneloops and 18650's. Is it worth it? Is there something better? Thanks guys, I love this forum!!

for that money i would buy a decent hobby charger like the icharger 106B+

I own it and would not be without one.

It has paid for itself with the amount of batteries I use.

It is a tool to monitor all my batteries, test before heading out and to determine which batteries in a multi-battery setup are dead.

If you have the money and already own a multimeter, I'd get it :)

Russ

I own it and use it a lot. But not so much with rechargeable li-ions where voltage on a DMM is an adequate proxy for charge.

I own one and absolutely love it!

It's a quick and easy way to check all kinds of different batteries.

We use it at the store a lot.

+ multi chemistry and quick

+ tests beyond "resting voltage"

- somewhat flimsy negative lead

- rather large, but rubberized edges and durable

Would I use it at home? Not really unless I use primaries a lot. For rechargeables, if the battery is suspect I'll just toss in the Maha 9000 or respective XTAR charger.

This will check batteries and there internal resistance as well as charge and discharge them and can do data logging.
