I've been reading through different topics about cheap batteries exploding and it's making me pretty nervous. I was wondering if it is safe for me to use these batteries or should I just throw them out and get better ones. I am a complete newbie with batteries (didn't even know these batteries existed until a week ago) and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
(And if it matters, I'll be mounting the flashlight on my bike.)
The fact that it's a single cell light means it will be safer. The cheap batteries do have more issues but the biggest thing is that generally they don't come close to their mAh ratings.
While they probably won't explode or anything they probably have a much smaller capacity than what they say they do. I remember on the other forum one person measured one that was 700 mah. What charger are you using? As long as the charger stops charging at the right time you will probably be ok. However if you ever do get a multi-cell light then definitely get some quality cells.
